I did not manage to get tickets to see the Zelda 40th concert. Really hoping Nintendo sees the demand and pushes more dates and locations.

Yoko Shimomura and the Zelda concert are both coming to Chicago, which isn't ridiculously far from me! But they are both coming in winter, which means there's a chance we get hit with storms and I couldn't even get there. (Chicago will be fine, but I'm coming from Wisconsin)

Only a few hours left for the Nintendo Customer Appreciation sale. I'm curious. What Nintendo-published games do you think are must-haves that most people sleep on? Skip the big major stuff. Spinoffs, odd games, remakes. Looking at Astral Chain and The World Ends With You, but not sure.

It frustrates me that there are so many small devs willing to pay for real physical carts for Switch 2 but then you have companies like Squenix that have just completely abandoned true physical on Switch 2 despite having far more money and choosing to heavily support the platform.

I cannot recommend this enough. The first game has aged a bit more roughly, but Lufia II is an absolute gem. A lot of JRPG fans overlook these, and OG SNES carts can be expensive. Can't wait to revisit them. Between this and Terranigma... I'm really starting to love @clearrivergames.bsky.social

This is what happens when Nintendo is the only one of the big 3 that cares about their retail presence. Looks like we're getting a whole damn dedicated Pokemon section. (Took forever to get the pic because there were lots of kids around)

All the Zelda merchandise I'm buying for Zelda's 40th is going to single-handedly give Nintendo a very healthy quarter. Also, he's gonna help me find some Koroks.

I'm really digging some of the artwork Nintendo's been cooking for the 40th anniversary of Zelda.

40th anniversary rendition of the Triforce, showing an image of Ganondorf in the top Triforce, Zelda in the bottom left, and Link on the bottom right, symbolizng which character is tied with each piece, and an image of the Hylian Crest in the middle.

I don't like to be negative about gaming, but I am highly displeased with the direction Sony PlayStation has been going lately. (this is my very polite way of saying Fuck Sony). Thankfully, PC, Nintendo, and even XBOX? can pick up the slack. Kojima at Microsoft blows my mind.

A thing in gaming that I don't gets brought up nearly enough: It was Nintendo, in the 80s, looking at Atari's failure, deciding music was essential. Anyone who wanted to make a game on their platform needed a composer and original music. Every 3rd party needed to provide games with original music.

In 1991, my father had a major heart attack at the beginning of December. He was in the hospital for a while. And it was expensive. My mom's boss wanted to help out and asked her what us kids wanted for Christmas. For Christmas, my dad was back home, and I got a Super Nintendo. Best Christmas ever.

I have been heartbroken over the passing of Hayden Panettiere. For me, and I imagine many gamers, she was first and foremost Kairi. I wish things had worked out differently. I know she struggled with addiction. I just hope she is at peace now.

I just want to say, I collect games, but I collect games to play them. I do not believe there is any real value in keeping them sealed, or graded, or whatever. Their real value is in the joy people can experience playing them. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk.

I can tell you from my work, the building of new data centers did drop down dramatically a few months ago. Also, I'm really not sure how comfortable I feel doing this work. I was kinda dumb. It took me a while to realize a job name with "DC" in it meant data center.

I did math, and from Nintendo's Q1 numbers, it looks like sales were 40% physical, 40% digital when physical is available, and 20% for digital-only games and services. That's a 50/50 split when a physical cartridge is available. I don't think Nintendo is even close to abandoning the physical space.

Last time I was at my local Best Buy, I noticed that they have some indie games on physical Switch cartridges like Stardew Valley and Undertale. I think I'm gonna swing by there sometime and pick those up. Putting my money where my mouth is and supporting physical media.

I'm sad to report my uncle passed away tonight. He had been fighting cancer for several years. He was 71. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family. I'm just grateful I got to be there. He was always the funny one at gatherings and brightened the room. A party animal and jokester all his life.

Crazy to think Final Fantasy X is 25 years old. Still a very special game to me, both for the game itself and when it entered my life. It was the reason I got a PS2.
