This is the best wikipedia entry I've read today.
A short piece of black text on a white background, an excerpt from the wikipedia page for the film Spontaneous Combustion (1990), directed by Tobe Hooper. The text reads:

"David grows up under the name Sam Kramer, now a thirty four-year-old instructor living in California. He occasionally bursts into flames whenever emotions run high."

Friday evening, you say?
A glass of red "wine" sits on a Blakes 7 coaster in front of a keyboard with white keys and a blue space bar. The bottle of "wine" can be seen on the right of the image, any resemblance to a plastic squash bottle is wholly correct as that's exactly what it is.

The "wine" is a home-brewed concoction of red grape juice, sugar, yeast and time. After a couple of weeks to mellow it's surprisingly drinkable but can only be described as "wine" (i.e. with the quotes) to avoid causing a diplomatic incident with France.

Still, at around £2 for a litre of the stuff, it'll do the job nicely. Economy in these trying times, etc.

Jarred chutney ready to sit on a shelf in the larder to slowly blend its flavours and become even more amazing. Or be eaten in a week because I'm far too impatient.
Open Kilner jar standing on a black glass stove top. The jar is full of dark red onion chutney that is trying to look unctuous. A spoon sits in the jar, which is silly because chutney needs time to settle.

On the right of frame is the edge of a madeleine tray that is waiting to have the small cakes removed to a wire rack.

Productive morning spent chopping 9 or 10 red onions (I lost count), making two jars for pickling and a bunch more for a chutney. Pickling onions now resting in brine for jarring tomorrow, chutney cooling to jar up later.
Photograph of a black glass stove top with two Kilner jars on the left of the image, filled with chopped red onions. A large pan on the right of the image contains a bubbling mix of more red onion, red wine, white vinegar, balsamic vinegar, sugar and a few chilli flakes being reduced to the consistency required for chutney. A well-used wooden spoon rests on the edge of the pan.

Quote with a ridiculous movie you think people should watch.
Poster for the movie Torque, featuring the stars of the film, Martin Henderson, Ice Cube and Monet Mazur and two motorcycles being ridden in a manner that would incur penalty points on your licence. Text at the top of the poster reads, "from the producer of THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS, S.W.A.T. and XXX". Note, the producer, not director or star or same universe so keep those expectations low.

It's basically an early Fast & Furious pastiche on bikes and the movie knows how daft that premise is and lives up to it completely.

Features an early credit for Adam Scott. He's very good at being Adam Scott in this.

Overall, it's brilliant, particularly the bike fight and the moment when they go off-road and the sports bikes magically turn into dirt bikes with plastics zip-tied on.

What's your sign?
Picture of a road somewhere in the UK countryside on a sunny day, on the left side of the image (and the road pictured) is a red sign with white text reading, "SIGN NOT IN USE".

This is a genuine road sign that according to the Highway Code "indicates that a sign ahead which is usually offering a variable message is not currently in use or is being testing". So that's perfectly clear, isn't it. Link below in case you still think it's bollocks.

Short power cut this morning forced a reboot of the PC, Firefox was running slow and this was in the cache. Is this bad? Feels like this is bad.
Screenshot of my Firefox cache showing that whatsapp.com has set 3 cookies using total storage of 17,179,869,184GB and as I don't have a data farm in the garage that may be an issue.

Also, Gemini Man, a 1976 US TV series about a secret agent who could turn invisible for 15 minutes a day, controlled by the amazing futuristic technology of a digital watch. 11 episodes produced, only 5 were aired in the US but in the UK we got all of them AND a tie-in hardback annual.
Screenshot from the opening titles of Gemini Man, a 1976 US TV series about a secret agent who could turn invisible after exposure to a booby-trapped Soviet "weather satellite" but only for 15 minutes a day.

The image shows the digital watch that controlled his invisibility displaying a countdown set to 15 minutes next to the Gemini Man himself (Sam Casey played by Ben Murphy), wearing a fantastic double denim suit.

Name a TV show you're positive no one remembers but you. Family on a sailing trip in the Bermuda Triangle encounter a mysterious green cloud that leaves them stranded in a strange other world with aliens and time travel and Atlantis. Cancelled after 10 episodes (of 13 planned).

Title screen showing the Deep Space Nine space station from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (a TV show) with the title "The Gathering", which is the title of the first episode of Babylon 5. I am confident that no one else has done this one and that I'm both hilarious and nerdy in a really cool way.

Some questions seem a bit easier than others. Although in this case I selected the bottom option which was wrong and reset my streak. Which is about right for a wet Wednesday morning.
Screenshot of the tardle.lovable.app game with a picture taken from a Tom Baker Doctor Who story with two options, both reading "The Pirate Planet". Despite that, the second option results in an incorrect answer, thus proving once again that I am unluckier than Unlucky Alf off of The Fast Show.

A Burger King logo generated by that Burger King logo generator that everyone's using right now (well, not *everyone* everyone but enough folk that I follow that I felt the need to jump on the bandwagon in a vain attempt to be in with the cool kids for a moment or two before they realise how deeply tragic I really am) that in the main text asks if a chippy tea is possible and the tagline provides confirmation that a chippy tea is indeed on the cards.

A cartoon picture of Thomas the Tank Engine where Thomas is an elongated grey sausage with multiple arms crawling out the front of the steam engine shell he uses to avoid scaring his prey, the passengers who board his train and are never seen again. And the Fat Controller knows but Thomas saves him a fortune on fuel so he doesn't do anything about it.

The number 1 movie when you were ten years old will define your 2026. So maybe not the most positive for the protagonist but in retrospect possibly the best one of all.* * I will not enter into any discussion regarding this last point.
Scene from The Empire Strikes Back where Vader is telling Luke that he knows he's getting socks and a novelty beer mug for Christmas because "I felt your presents" and Luke is protesting because it's really hard to find gifts for your [redacted because spoilers for a film moment that's been part of popular culture for 40-something years because this is Bluesky and someone would call it out]. And his Dad's not happy about that excuse.

Jeff Goldblum "your scientists" meme.
A composite photograph of two bags of crisps on sale at my local shop with flavours promising to be reminiscent of a dog's fart after its eaten your Christmas dinner leftovers. On the left is a dark red coloured bag claiming to be "Beef Wellington & Port Gravy" flavour, on the right a matte gold bag of "Boxing Day Curry" flavour. I didn't buy them but I am intrigued about how much Brussels sprout features in the curry.

Share a smile 🙂
Screenshot of the slightly sinister Dad from the 1980s British Pork TV commercial as he smiles after saying, "we've all got plenty" while carving a roast pork joint and definitely not a human leg for Sunday dinner with friends and family. The colour palette is a stunning blend of nicotine yellows and swamp green, which was the fashion at the time.

That's not the only tune it can be sung to.
The TMNT logo reworded with "Honey Monster Genitalia" because I had to get it out of my head.
