I spent my 47th birthday playing Mario Kart World on the Switch 2 with my two older brothers. Best birthday ever...

Thank you, @brighterdayvinyl.bsky.social for the bonkers discotastic Beatles medley 7". There are, count 'em, 34 Beatles tracks thrillingly flung together. And to think Giles Martin went to such bother with Love... #vinyl

In case anyone was wondering if I am having a nice birthday 🌞 For someone who follows the keto diet for most of the year, the shock of all this sugar may kill me. But, oh... what a death.

Nine years since I last had a drink. I barely recognise myself, but the neediness is still there, occasionally showing itself. I’m happy I found other ways to cope. I’m proud of what I’ve done and excited about what lies ahead. If you’re reading this and want change, hear this... you can do it 🌞

A really lovely long walk in the forest with Yuri. I left my phone back home so we could focus on the task in hand... finding locations for our wedding photos. Which we succeeded in doing. And now back for lunch whilst watching Game of Thrones; and then preparation for the Sunday Service.

I decided to let some records go from the personal collection for future Sunday Services. It's a nice way to spend this Sunday morning... 🌞

No Sunday Service preview videos tonight as been running around arranging wedding stuff. But it is on... tomorrow... 7pm.... 🌞

Here's a question! Where in London/Essex can you take various Hi-Fi equipment and turntables to sell. I'm aware of Audiogold, but found myself curious if anyone had good experiences elsewhere? Thanks in advance 🌞

In my experience, If you ever wondered why some bands, despite how mediocre, become so big, it's because of their relentless work ethic. Oh... U2 are back. The same goes for why some bands, despite being phenomenal, are not so big... little work ethic. That and luck. Never underestimate luck.

This oddity has always interested me. Story goes Danger Mouse dropped them off at his local record shop to create a buzz. I can't find anything online about it. Cool story though.

Japanese lesson done, I'm off to meet an old industry colleague who has some records for me, go buy myself a Switch 2 as an early Birthday present and then see a collection in East London. Yes... middle aged man sitting in a car off to buy a games console. Welcome.

☎️ "hello. I have some records for sale, but I'm going to give you no information about them. In fact, I can't even give you an idea of how many records I have. Neither tell you anything about the artists or styles. And no, I can't tell you my location. How much will you give me?"

I've some Talking Heads records up for adoption. A 2xLP bootleg that's missing a disc and their official live album that's missing a sleeve. Give em a home. Comment "psycho". A random wheel thingy will find it a home later 🌞

Busy dealing with this evenings Sunday Service requests. The tea is helping (thank you, Yuri). Listening to Signing Off by UB40 (again). What a magnificent album. Thanks for those who joined me this evening... so many amazing records off to new homes.

Yuri and I went to the Pictures to watch The Odyssey. I absolutely loved it. Uncompromising, thrilling and genuinely poetic in it's form and composition. An absolute spectacular. And a film I have no interest in ever watching again. Now home to prepare for the Sunday Service 🌞

FIRST JUMPER DAY OF THE YEAR (if we dont include the earlier months that is). Off to the post office to drop off some orders and then onto this collection. "Lots of 80s" they said. That could mean anything... but lets go take a gander.

Funny when a song plays on the radio or when you're out and about and it wasn't something you had necessarily been expecting to hear... it hits you in a different way. I mean... I always knew Ticket to Ride was a good song, but it REALLY IS a good song.

how bloody luck am I? I travel around the country (occasionally the world) buying records. Sometimes it's very stressful, but then at other times (like this morning when I'm sipping my coffee looking at this beautiful morning sky), I remember how fortunate I am. I hope you have an ace day 🌞
