Name a TV show you’re positive nobody remembers but you. STRANGE PARADISE, 1969-70, 195 (!) episodes. A feverish nightmare I thought I had as a kid. Later, when I tried to tell anyone about this show they thought I was crazy and/or talking about Dark Shadows. This was much scarier, though.

For years I've had some lovely elegiac words about dogs rattling around my brain and could never remember where they were from. I finally found them - the last three sentences in this essay by the great novelist Jim Krusoe, from 1993. “I was a dog. I did my best. Now it is finished.”
