#AmericanEnglish is a very strange #language. Americans pronounce /calf/ as /caff/ & /tuh-MAH-toe/ as /tuhMAYtoe/ yet in the show I'm watching, the rowers are practising for a /re-GAR-tah/. 🤔 And don't even get me started on /ad-ver-TYZE-ment/ and /bal-AY/. #linguistics #communication

The last time I moved, which was 9 yrs ago I think, I left a lot of my china-type stuff wrapped in its bubble wrap when I unpacked so that when I either shuffle off (preference) or 'get moved' (into care), whoever gets stuck with the packing up has a bit of a head start!

I've watched YGM 157 times so I actually *know* the dialogue by heart! In this one the copying is even down to the 2 guys on treadmills (Tom Hanks & his offsider in YGM) talking about how she shouldn't be pissy and they say to each other 'it's just business'!! It's like déjà vu all over again! 😂
