The weather forecast is looking good for next week's wild bee guided walks at Bryngarw Country Park, Bridgend. Hopefully we'll see some of the parts more noteworthy species such as the Cat's-ear Mining Bee (Andrena humilis) and Cat's-ear Nomad Bee (Nomada integra) @bridgend-lnp.bsky.social

#NoMowMay with @plantlifeuk.bsky.social is right around the corner! 🌱🌺🌿🌱 No matter how big or small your garden, pack away your lawnmower & allow wildflowers to bloom freely, supporting valuable bees, butterflies & other insects. Join the No Mow Movement 👉 www.plantlife.org.uk/campaigns/no...
A graphic saying 'Give Power to the Flower', surrounded by illustrations of flowers (wildflowers, from sunflower style petals, to dandelions, to cornflowers and lavender), and a bee, butterfly, dragonfly and ladybird surrounding the text. It's brightly coloured, as a meadow should be! White text on a green, grassy background, saying:

"Whether you’re in a city, town or the countryside, pack away your
lawnmower and allow wildflowers to bloom freely on your lawn.
Starting this May, give power to the flowers.

Approximately 97% of flower-rich meadows have been lost since the 1930s.With them we have also lost vital food needed by pollinators like bees and butterflies. Leaving a mix of grass lengths in your lawn from #NoMowMay and beyond means you’re giving nature the boost it deserves.

With more than 23 million gardens in the UK even the smallest wild patch can make a difference. You can help provide vital food needed by bees and butterflies and connect with nature on your doorstep.
Join the #NoMowMay movement at plantlife.org.uk/nomowmayA top down view of a lawn, dotted with wildflowers like selfheal, clover and yellow birds-foot trefoil. They are a vibrant yellow, with splashes of purple, against a rich green background. There's a variety of grasses amongst it.
