In a bid to generate sales, Van Day and Bazar announced their engagement, but this was later revealed to be a publicity stunt.[7] In reality they had split up as a couple months earlier.

no offence but why is the British public being asked about my medical diagnosis, would it also like to check out my ankles and my elbows to decide whether I really have hypermobile joints, should I cough on them next time I have a cold so they can confirm that I'm ill

York Theatre Royal has a reasonably spacious ground floor loo, and an extremely tiny 1st floor one. Previously, the former was the women's and the latter the men's. But for a couple years the former was redesignated unisex. Because it's just cubicles and sinks. Quickly got changed back again.

My understanding is that there's a small amount of people who are passionately either for or against trans rights - I don't have figures but say 5% each. The other 90% generally don't care that much. More pressing concerns. But the 5% antis have a lot of money and a beloved author.

Which of course you can do with a newspaper or magazine which someone might buy to read about Harry & Meghan but end up reading about fiscal policy too. It's a lot harder when the primary interaction is with individual articles shared on SM.

Because for the most part, particularly with alcohol, it doesn't cause you to say something completely opposite to what you actually believe, it just lowers inhibitions enough for you to actually say it out loud. It's just that they really believe "everyone thinks like this, we're just saying it"

AND THE THING IS that NaNoWriMo had always taken the attitude of "*shrug* whatever. there's no prizes here, our validator will accept 50k words of loren ipsum. There is no meaningful "win" other than finishing" If they'd taken that tack with LLMs, it would have been fine. "Only cheating yourself".

I know I say it a lot, but it needs saying, and I will continue to say it until there is a real reckoning. The Legitimate Concerns paradigm has been one of the biggest public policy disasters of the c21st in the UK. And we certainly haven't paid the full cost of it yet.

A lot of this sort of thing I take the Battle of the River Plate approach. That film gives on-screen credits to the warships as if they're actors playing roles. You can do the same with a lot of war films - "T-6 Texan AS Mitsubishi Zero", "M47 Patton AS King Tiger" etc

There was a Peter Capaldi episode of DW - the one with the graffiti monsters - that prominently features a green Class 117 DMU running urban services in modern Cardiff. I assume that's what the FX team had access to when building the CG model. Headcode says A113 which is a Pixar reference...
In a dark tunnel, a train is seen head-on - a flat-fronted Diesel Multiple Unit with three windows across the width of the cab, surrounded by dark green framing. Above, the roof is light grey, and a rectangular box carries the number code A113. Below the cab windows is a narrow white line, and a yellow horizontal panel encompassing the headlights. Below again, and just visible in the darkness, a red bar holds the buffers.

The period is right, but there's a shot or two in the "Orient Express thunders through the night" bits of From Russia woth Love where the OE looks suspiciously like a Jubilee and a rake of maroon mk 1s, but they've recoloured them green. Also, apparently this exists railwaymoviedatabase.com

Kate Fox, in Watching the English talks about the "ingenious use of props and facilitators" method of the English meeting each other. We have to pretend we're actually there for the books, or the acting, or the modded cars, or whatever, and that meeting people and making friends is a bonus

Not been my experience with M&S out here in the Provinces, but certainly Boots look like WHS did - everything held together with parcel tape. It's the classic vicious cycle - revenues are down so you cut costs and put up prices to compensate...

I used to work in travel and let me tell you... I do think too that breakfast is the most susceptible to this. We had people who wrote in afterwards to say how much they'd enjoyed trying all the local food, they loved this or that restaurant - then complained they couldn't get bacon for brekker.
