iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Caught Transformers and Optimus Prime: Awakening. Thanks for all the memories big man

Brianvondoom @brianvondoom.bsky.social · 17/08/2026

No Marvel blueprint. Tony FUCKS. Didn't realise how little sex exists in the MCU til I swear that. Also pre injury Tony seems much more of a dick given modern America.

Watching the original Iron Man. Still great but there is anachronisms everywhere now- the soldier needing a digital camera to take a photo with Tony, CD players, weird non smart phones...

Considering spending time really getting into how DMX lighting works. Back in the day I feel I contributed to how streaming works, now everyone can do it. Maybe a good project would be to document how to make an inexpensive lighting rig for mid size events. QLC looks like the lighting OBS for one

I did this 2 years ago, and it was incredibly rewarding. Also very scary. I'm going back this year to do a design post grad cert too so obviously it has lit a fire in me :)

Yeah. Discord just doesn't hit the same way. It's harder to search too. Feels very impermanent in terms of community building too.

Brianvondoom @brianvondoom.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

Weird thing to miss but I miss when fgc tournaments used to have a single thread discussing them. After events everyone would show up on the one thread, usually mostly happy, and give their comments and feedback and stuff. Feels more like there's 50 discords with people speaking into the void now.

Back when I was a musicy man, when someone asked me about songwriting, I'd say you need quiet to make loud matter, & technical excellence gets lost in the wash if you always play full speed (build up to blast beats lads). Truly shocked Joe Quesada can explain the concept better than me :D

Every platform is temporary. We got to get used to that.

I dont need a complete price list, but I do want examples at the very least to gauge price range. I understand custom work is hard to price sometimes but no prices deffo put me off.

AI does have great uses, just no one who profits from AI has reason to use it that way. Machine learning early detection of disease in patterns too complex for human recognition. Bad for those who profit off medication. Detection of fake video, so possible I made one. No money in that for youtube

Similarly I've used it to time save in some coding, but you have to deeply understand what's going on to prevent bad errors. It really likes to "clean up" code without asking too.

Oh dear. How exactly is the LLM supposed to know any new features or functionality?

020

Brianvondoom @brianvondoom.bsky.social · 31/10/2025

100%, each change should in theory demand a full retraining. There are ways to paper over the cracks as you say but they wouldn't last long. And retraining is EXPENSIVE.

140

Brianvondoom @brianvondoom.bsky.social · 31/10/2025

As someone who just got a nice spanking new masters in AI, claiming an LLM model can 100% accurately say anything is lying or a lack of understanding. They just suggest the next most likely token based on input. You can add rules for specific questions, but at that point it's just a search engine.
