This is a helpful addition this year! It’s a challenge to get everyone updated but looking forward to the new family settings.

There is a large paragrph that explains where services are being provided from? I guess this is inevitable with all the government requirements and restrictions.

There is a warning against using Apple devices to perform scams. And another warning that if Apple will respond if a scam is suspected.

There is a big new warning about the accuracy of Apple Intelligence responses and info.

Developer Services also gets some leeway in providing services. This is such massive news for Mac hosting, CI/CD services, AI agents, etc.

The EULA now specifically prohibits the tampering of hardware or software that shows when a photo/video/audio/etc is being recorded. It was near impossible to do already, but maybe they saw what people were doing to meta glasses.

First massive news: There is now an option to running more than 2 virtual copies of macOS. It requires a direct agreement with Apple but wow, big news for MacStadium and simliar.

I am not an attorney, but I always enjoy an Apple EULA deep dive and there were some noticeable changes this year. Apple has added macOS 27 (sans Golden Gate) so let's dive in. (New parts are in orange)

This is such a nice feature in OS 27s. I’ve been wanting it for so long and I will not miss manually updating all the Apple TVs in the house…

Screenshot of Home app now shows Apple TV available updates.

Ten years later and I still miss Eye-Fi SD cards. They were so convenient for wireless transfer and geotagging photos in cameras that didn’t offer it.

Apple Sports app gets better with each update. It’s nice to have this setting to turn off the betting odds. I really hate seeing the gambling influence during every single interaction with sports.

Occasionally I crave a good bag of Oompas and wish they were still sold. These were the best fruity candies.

One for the car. One for the other car. One for the desk. One for the charging station. And one for a gift. From here on out, clean screens only.

Absolutely love that Apple's AI servers are being made with the help of the best OG servers...

It's red flag week at Nellis Air Force Base so there is a noisy parade of jets over the house all day. I love trying to catch their outline through the clouds.

I've been beta testing this photo culling app for macOS. It's nice to have a place to cull photos quickly and without them uploading to iCloud right away. Once my batch of photos is cleaned up, they go to Photos. Also, great RAW+JPEG support. Signup to test if interested: www.photoculler.com

This is the new .dmg icon? Yikes... (At first glance, I thought it was showing me an unfinished download.)

Spotted an old style McDonald’s in Las Vegas so I went in to check. Sure enough, Wes Cook’d in there! Thanks to @cabel.panic.com for helping me appreciate the work.

A rare disagree with @gruber.foo here. I’m a cognizant MacBook Pro no-adjective user because the CPU/GPU is more than enough for me. I buy over Air for - XDR display - Battery life - much better speakers - SD/HDMI ports I’m glad to have the option without an adjective markup.

Update: if this happens to you, call apple and tell them the package has been lost. They’ll “investigate” and the next day they’ll usually just process it. I guess they search it down or take the insurance payout. Either way, they usually make it right for the customer.

Trying the 8x on Marner in gold. Looks good. May as well test it on the banner in the rafters too…

Apple Sports app is just in time with the tennis support. It would be great to have an option for specific players as well.

Split Screen should definitely be the third option here. No one will miss Stage Manager.

The Sphere: where the main act is simply background music and mid-seats are actually the best seats. It’s shocking every time like the first time.

CES comes to town for a week and now you can't get a Mac mini at any Apple Store in town. Companies come here and need a little computer to run their booth and advertising displays.

Brian Stucki @brianstucki.com · 11/01/2025

This was the display in the expo hall. Also, it was one of the only times I can remember that Apple had a hardware product that they announced and made available for purchase at the same time.(Bought one in San Francisco Apple Store about 20 minutes after the keynote ended...)

Twelve years ago today. I loved Glassboard. I hate seeing screenshots in my Photos library so I usually delete them. But I love seeing old screenshots. I just made a shortcut that runs every night and takes new screenshots from my Photos and puts them into Files. We'll see how that goes.

It’s always fun to see the passport recaps from Flighty. I’m not sure I’ll ever top this 2024 one.
