Cap Metro is increasing fares for the first time since 2015. Single ride is increasing from $1.25 to $1.50 next year and then to $2.00 in 2029. Long overdue IMO. waypointblog.com/capmetro-is-...

CapMetro Is Proposing Its First Fare Increase in More Than a Decade. Here’s Why! - WayPoint Blog
For the first time in more than 11 years, CapMetro is proposing a fare increase. The word increase can spark a lot of emotion, and there’s never an ideal time to propose something like this. But after...

www.austinchronicle.com/news/aisd-pr... More cuts and layoffs coming to AISD, including a proposal to cut all neighborhood school bus service (MS & HS kids would board the bus at elementary schools instead) Really glad the mayor & city council decided to make this worse to appease Rosedale NIMBYs

I've been watching the units on Depew go up over the last several months. They were all manufactured offsite - I don't think I've seen anyone build SF homes like this in ATX before.

Towers are cool but this is the most exciting ATX development in a while IMO. Wouldn't have been possible without parking and compatibility reform!

It's unfortunately been a rough year for Cap Metro. After a few years of post-pandemic ridership recovery, ridership numbers are now heading in the wrong direction

Another big rezoning near Koenig & Airport was just filed. The applicant wants to convert a parking lot w/ accessory office space to a 650 unit apartment w/ 250' height limit.

Feels like this is another strike against our reliance on density bonus programs. Parking and compatibility reform moved quickly because they simplified the code while all of the bonus program updates originally slated for 2025 will further complicate the code.

After AISD authorized the sale of Rosedale Elementary School this spring, a developer has requested a rezoning to MF-6 so they can build 435 units. A few years ago AISD proposed retaining ownership and single family homes (lol) or a smaller scale apartment building.
