You can’t go to a Hawks game and coach AFC Richmond at the same time.

Could there even be a resale market for a game that wasn’t even on the schedule until Friday afternoon? Who would have tickets to resell?

They’re selling tickets to the relocated Cubs-Red Sox game for $100 and up? Who’s buying those tickets on two days’ notice? I remember in ~1994 when the Kingdome roof broke and the Mariners had to relocate a bunch of home games, and the games at Fenway Park were $10 general admission tickets.

Folks advocating for year-round daylight saving time are thinking too small. Year-round daylight *investing* time is where you get the real returns.

If it really was Professor Plum with the lead pipe in the dining room, nobody ever talks about how Professor Plum is doing just as much damage to himself via lead exposure as he did to the victim, and somebody should keep an eye on his bloodwork going forward

I filled 10 spots. Pedroia and Wright are very close, I agree. I’m hoping spots open up in 2027 to give Wright a closer look.

One point on voting for 10: Look at any random ballot from before ~2018 or so, and you’d be hard-pressed to find one with fewer than 10 eventual Hall inductees on it, even if they didn’t all get in the same year.

We don’t have to select 10, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a single ballot from before 2018 without 10+ eventual Hall of Famers on it. The Hall is not as small as many people think.

In the mail. Did some serious rethinking about standards for starting pitchers. In case it’s not obvious, Ramirez was a strategic drop, based on the limit of 10.
Hall of Fame ballot: Abreu, Beltran, Buehrle, Hamels, Hernandez, Jones, Pedroia, Pettitte, Rodriguez, Utley.

It’s telling that the Devers camp drops this detail *now*, despite weeks of opportunity to set the record straight, since now there’s zero chance of Devers being held to it.
