“The 49ers arrived in Melbourne a week before the game, while the Rams opted to spend just over 24 hours in Australia.” 👀

It makes sense for the World Cup and Euros. It doesn’t make sense in most footie leagues where you have a lot of teams with the field being the point. In the old CL, you also had small tables, but teams played home and away. Head-to-head as in last match wouldn’t work so alternatives needed.

Many English groups, including C18, have come and gone yet seem to have been studied much more. The NI peace process never tidied up these loose ends and the loyalists have become an instrument for others.

It’s sickening to see what’s happening, but not surprising to me that you could find a sizable group in Glasgow who would align with the crowd in Belfast. Through my whole time growing up in NI there was an assumption that groups in Scotland would throw in with loyalists if it ever came to numbers.

What do they actually mean here? The examples they give in the FT are not dissimilar to current options. The UK created and operate Brimstone which are fire and forget. You can point a salvo at an area and it picks targets, hopefully distinguishing civilian ones ndia.dtic.mil/wp-content/u...

Isn’t it contextual with part AI plans and part business? Paying more and deciding that you’ll hire fewer people is a very different signal from what Block employees received. I find it hard to believe they don’t expect to attrit many more based on outlook.

I find “code this for me” is very satisfying when faced with mechanical task that’s solved except for the typing, e.g. some ugly JSON that needs to be mapped to some class. As the scale of novel changes grows the satisfaction drops.

From a bad experience with a windshield cracking, I’d also suggest running the heater towards your feet rather than blasting the windshield. A measured temperature transition is always best. The windshield that cracked wasn’t the original.

When I went to the US on an H-1B, part of the application had an educational assessment comparing the US and UK systems. What you describe aligns with what they included for 3 vs 4 years of undergrad.

The term has broken out of programming to be (sometimes invalid) argument against local improvements in a system/product where feature contributions are (viewed as) more worthy elsewhere.

I rarely post personal things. But I need to talk about my 4-year-old niece, Hope. She has a rare disease. A drug called elamipretide has helped her survive. But the FDA recently denied its approval. Now, her health hangs in the balance. Please share her story & urge the FDA to reconsider. 🧵

This seems like the usual problem of mapping between how they represent a design that can be arbitrary in their editor and the output. This reminds of Drumbeat-esque output that came a few years before Dreamweaver. This should fixable to an extent, but real fixes often constrain their editor UI.

It’s likely critical for chain of custody as it contextually presents the messages. Someone can reply to “is that your phone?”

For the base, I install 1Password, Alfred, Rectangle, Sublime Text, uv (for Python) and Homebrew. From there I remap capslock to ctrl and tweak a few Dock prefs. At that point, it depends on whether it is a dev or photography machine. I do way less tweaking now than when I was younger.

It’s the platform, but they struggle to struggle to resolve valid escalations. Garron Noone (www.instagram.com/reel/CwIExe9... ) was hit before the holidays. A normal level of c-word usage that is appropriate for his humour gets caught by ML and then the initial human reviewer doesn’t get it.
