Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I don't post a lot over here, but I realized some of my connections I follow here might not know about my pretty big Saturday if I don't mention it here. It was a pretty great day. (photo credit: www.instagram.com/angelbrownph...) 220
Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 14/08/2026I just noticed the new Phoebe Bridgers record also features glow-in-the-dark spot gloss inside the gatefold. The only lyrics that glow (they're not visible in the light) are for the secret, unlisted track on side D, which I think is pretty neat. 030
Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 12/08/2026I broke down and bought the most expensive album package I’ve ever gotten, but it's one of the absolute best I own, so no regrets. There are 226 copies left, so get on it if you want to hear something really great (the songs are not available on streaming). Happy National Vinyl Record Day, everyone! 050
Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 19/07/2026This record was released in 1989 (so too early for AI accusations), and I have known it for many years. But today is the first time I realized this guy has six fingers on his right hand. 110

Reposted by Brian SawyerBmoricuan @faelo23.bsky.social · 08/06/2026If you're in the Towson area, there's a new El Salvadorian restaurant called El Rincón Salvadoreño at 905 York Road next to the Towson Vaporium - pupusas are excellent (my mother is El Salvadorian so I know from good pupusas!) 074
Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 26/02/2026More evidence of the importance of the Oxford comma. I thought Glen Hansard and Moby sounded like crazy collab. 020

Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 22/01/2026The Sinners OST arrived in my mailbox today just in time to see the film receive well-deserved nominations for Best Original Score and Best Original Song (among a record number of other categories) at the Oscars. 010
Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 13/12/2025If I never see another "You know Elf on the Shelf..." joke again, it will be too soon. 000
Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 22/11/2025This exclusive edition of John Prine’s Lost Dogs & Mixed Blessings was worth the wait! Thanks, @ohboyrecords.bsky.social! 100
Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 16/11/2025Spot the differences! For a long time I was frustrated to have only the first BOMP! repress on the right. I finally found the original Mohawk first pressing on the left for a (relatively) reasonable price. I still don’t know why “I’m Straight” was removed from all later pressings. 000
Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 11/11/2025I can't be the only one who knows a little something about Bob Dylan (including how his career actually turned out) who reads his response as an obvious joke at Berklee's expense? 030
Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 07/11/2025Today marks the 10-year anniversary of the first vinyl record I ever bought (though my parents had a record collection when I was a kid, my own purchases were all cassettes, followed by a transition to CDs), beginning a hobby and bit of obsession that has kept me busy all these years later. 7652
Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 25/10/2025Nebraska is my favorite Springsteen album, and its story is even more impressive (I haven't seen the movie yet, but I read the book). One nagging thing the editor in me always notices, though, is how a few lines find their way into more than one song. 310

Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 10/07/2025Speaking of pairing records with books (as I often am), I was particularly excited to see this combo announced today: a new Jens Lekman album written to coincide with a novel by David Levithan of the same name! 100

Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 01/07/2025I've been hearing a lot of "Horses" by Jesse Welles on the radio lately, and I can't shake the feeling that the fiddle part owes a pretty big debt to Bob Dylan's "Hurricane." This is not a criticism. 000

Brian Sawyer @brianjsawyer.bsky.social · 23/05/2025It appears to be a good time for music memoirs. Even as I work to keep up, more keep being published, like this forthcoming one by Evan Dando, looking like Dennis Wilson. 000
