One of the things that holds Britain back is desperately clinging to our past because we have done it for hundreds of years. Constant patching, tidying the edges and making do will prolong the use but eventually everything has a shelf-life. The monarchy has run its course. Time to end it

Here is the RNLI sweatshirt I purchased as a response to the dickheads of Patriot Platform. May Danny Tommo rot in prison.

Tice is getting tetchy because he hasn't been able to get to Dubai to have his leg over lately. One of the few pluses in the Houti/Saudi war.

Why oh why do television programmes like Vine's continue to platform these obnoxious people. He clearly says things that he knows to be offensive, hopefully not from conviction, but to make people angry and draw attention to himself. Bet Reform and Restore are falling over themselves to sign him up.

I said in my speech to conference, the RNLI are the best of us. For those lucky enough to have parents volunteering with RNLI, I hope they feel nothing but pride in their parents.
Children of RNLI lifeboat volunteers are bullied at school because their parents rescue migrants in the English channel

Of course hedgehogs don't form the main part of a badgers diet. In fact, where you find badgers you tend not to find hedgehogs. However, badgers have the strength and claws to unroll a curled up hedgehog.

What a pedant. I do no dispute that the main cause of the decline in hedgehog numbers is due to all the things you mention. However the main predator is badgers, if you discount Romanies who cooked them by placing them directly in the embers of a fire encased in clay.

Johnson sacked by the Times for fabricating a quote by historian Colin Lucas. The man who invented Euromyths for the Telegraph, described by Chris Patten as "one of the greatest exponents of fake journalism". The Foreign Secretary who so misunderstand his brief as to endanger Zaghari-Ratcliffe.

She sounds a bit prickly. Incidentally, each spike has a muscle at its base that enables the hedgehog to raise or flatten it at will. Something male hedgehogs are very grateful for when it comes to mating.

Keep hearing Brexit supporters claiming that we made a decision to leave the EU and it would be undemocratic to revisit the question. Well we voted in 1975 to stay in but that didn't hold any sway in 2016. By the same token why do we vote every 5 years (give or take a bit) on who should govern us.

Disappointed Zac didn't win Holborn and St Pancras by-election but consoled by how the result is another blow against the Right and a poke in the eye for Zia Yusuf. I am sure Sagal Abdi-Wali will be a good local constituency MP

The breaking story today of the proposed screening of an execution by firing squad reduces the USA to the same barbaric level of Iran and Afghanistan. Trump and Hegseth too should face a firing squad, although as they both lack a heart or a brain, the choice of a vital organ to aim at is limited.

If Andy Burnham is a Paddington Bear of a PM (pleasant enough station; lovely fluffy creature that people generally really like), then Kemi Badenoch is a Euston Bluebottle (grim station; intensely irritating creature that can’t find its way out of an open window despite its unbridled confidence).

Not listening to Badenoch's speech on LBC. I have the volume turned down and already it is so predictable, as is the rapturous applause at the end of every sentence. It will be followed by a BBC vox pox in which Tory members will tell us how great she was. Hope she doesn't over run Simon Marks

This is a subject that fascinates me. I was a Labour Party activist until Starmer persuaded me to join the Green Party. When I switched to the Greens, as when I joined Labour, nobody checked my politics. It is ridiculously easy to be a fifth columnist in a political party.
