East-Side Story: Historical Pollution and Persistent Neighborhood Sorting
Stephan Heblich, Alex Trew, and Yanos Zylberberg

Abstract
Why are the east sides of formerly industrial cities more deprived? To answer this question, we use individual-level census data and create historical pollution patterns derived from the locations of 5,000 industrial chimneys and an atmospheric model. We show that this observation results from path-dependent neighborhood sorting that began during the Industrial Revolution, as prevailing winds blew pollution eastward. Past pollution explains up to 20% of observed neighborhood segregation in 2011, even though coal pollution stopped in the 1970s. We develop a quantitative model to identify the role of neighborhood effects and relocati-rigidities underlying this persistence.

A cool thing about how the world in now is that now elon could do the thing I posted about 2 days ago where he ends US homelessness for a decade and STILL have as much money as he did when I made that post
Elon Musk's net worth is approximately $1.3 trillion to $1.4 trillion, making him the first and only trillionaire in modern history. His unprecedented wealth surged past the $1 trillion mark following the high-profile public listing and market debut of his aerospace company, SpaceX.

Alleged Plot to Attack UFC Freedom 250 Event Thwarted by FBISummary
Multiple people are in custody after the FBI was tipped off to a planned attack on Sunday's UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House, FBI Director Kash Patel and officials said.
Authorities became aware of the alleged plot on June 10, four days before the event. The attack would involve drones carrying explosives to detonate and hit buildings near the venue, before shooting "high value targets" via snipers as they evacuated, per reports from FOX, CBS, ABC, and others citing officials. The second phase of the attack involved storming the White House gate.
Five people have been taken into custody thus far; they have been identified as Tycen Proper, 19, of Ohio, Bryan Omar Roa and Michael Alan Thomas of California, Daniel Eskridge of Missouri, and Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez of Nebraska. Authorities initially became aware of the plot due to a tip from Proper's mother.
Proper faces four charges, including conspiracy to commit an offense against the U.S., attempted murder of a federal officer, and two weapons charges. Upon a search of his parents' home, where he lives, authorities found ammunition and tactical clothing.
In total, 23 people were allegedly talking in Signal-a messaging app-to plan the attack.
"This work remains ongoing and we will continue to update the public as permitted," Patel said. Anyone information is encouraged to call 1-800-CALL-FBI ory tips.fbi.gov.

Not one of the private shipping companies is consistently better that USPS. They are often worse/harder to deal with - and always much more expensive. And not to mention frequently relying on USPS to do their job for them.

Musk, the worlds first trillionaire, has so much money he could potentially end homelessness in the US for a up to decade today and STILL be a trillionaire Obviously he won’t. Maybe it shouldn’t be his decision
Elon Musk's net worth is approximately $1.1 trillion, making him the richest person in the world and the first trillionaire in history. His monumental fortune is primarily driven by his major ownership stakes in Tesla and SpaceX, with the latter's massive public market debut pushing his overall wealth over the trillion-dollar threshold.

His net worth is well over triple that of the next wealthiest individuals globally. For a real-time tracking of his daily fluctuating net worth, you can check the Forbes Real Time Billionaires list or the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.cost to solve homelessness in us

Estimates to completely end homelessness in the U.S. vary from
$11 billion to $30 billion annually, though
achieving this requires massive structural investments in housing and services. Because cities vary drastically in cost-of-living and scale, the financial breakdown depends on the approach. S Scioto Analysis +1

If some billionaires prefer not to be forcibly turned into a thin red liquid, they could simply take steps to avoid being among the top 3 of the quarter I anticipate a sort of Squid Game meets Brewster’s Millions dynamic developing among the 1%, which as a bonus sounds very entertaining to watch

My political platform is fairly straightforward: We build a giant ceremonial food processor, and at the end of every quarter the 3 richest people get thrown into said food processor. The resulting slurry will be used as fertilizer for crops - it will be a great honor.

If a billionaire wealth tax accomplished nothing - if the money collected was placed in a pile and burnt - if it only resulted in fewer billionaires overall and those billionaires having less wealth. That would be a success.
