Nope. Well, maybe for like a month in 2020 after the Floyd murder. But they have a contract so it’s not going to change their actions if they did.

There’s this little entity called SPOG that is an intractable problem, regardless of who is in office.

Even if this were true, if she gets good things done, who cares?

BLopez @brettb3.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Nope. The texts proved the opposite.

The sanctimony is rich.

This could not be more untrue.

Oh shut up.

Seattle, Detroit and Tampa are not small markets.

BLopez @brettb3.bsky.social · 24/08/2026
Fair enough. I suppose the answer hinges on how you feel about Calkins’ credibility.

BLopez @brettb3.bsky.social · 24/08/2026
And do you have proof that the Times spiked it because of the opinion?

BLopez @brettb3.bsky.social · 24/08/2026
Nah, be specific.

I don’t know man. He may have have had a draft, but I saw no indication from him during his term or the campaign that he was interested in design reform at all.

What makes you think Harrell would have done any of that?

BLopez @brettb3.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
Good luck.

There’s a ton of parking in that area!

You keep bringing up the comp plan, but it is currently being held up via SEPA appeal. The mayor and council can’t resume work on advancing it until that is resolved.

Junk fees is something MANY renters care about.
010
BLopez @brettb3.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
Not sure about that. The mayor’s race in Seattle has historically favored moderates.
000
BLopez @brettb3.bsky.social · 05/08/2026
Harrell was a stronger candidate than you’re giving him credit for. He was much more entrenched and well known in Seattle politics than the conservative councilmembers and was always going to be much harder to beat.

I guarantee I’ve spoken face to face with our councilmembers way more than you have.

BLopez @brettb3.bsky.social · 03/08/2026
None of that would have impacted the response one iota.

The hell she does.

BLopez @brettb3.bsky.social · 02/08/2026
No, you’re just buying the spin.

Of which there is no grounds for either.

Disagree. She was firm and strong yesterday.

Obviously I don’t know if it was discussed. But even if it was, I don’t see why Barnes would have been motivated to renegotiate.

It would have had to have been worked out contractually. He was already under contract when Wilson took office.

Leo, Spoon, Jones and I would argue Murphy, though the league underrates him.

Final number for US-Belgium will come out tomorrow and likely exceed 45 million. Still an amazing number.

NBA and MLB are. Just not at the same level.

as someone living in seattle without a car and earning approximately 30% AMI, i will be happy to vote for this sales tax increase to fund and improve the transit services i rely on. the seattle times editorial board doesn't know jack about the affordability issues that impact me.

I don’t think any municipality in this region would have any interest in forking over tax payer dollars. The Seahawks aren’t going anywhere.

“Businesses further away from the stadium aren’t doing as well as businesses closer to the stadium.” Oh, no shit?

LOL. The article cited a Bloomberg piece saying that flight bookings to Seattle are down year over year, a claim which SeaTac already debunked. www.king5.com/video/news/l...

You have a problem with Ro Khanna?

They have. The turnaround is not going to be immediate.

The data belies your contention. More small businesses have opened than closed over that time period. Revenue hasn’t kept up due to inflation and having one of the most regressive tax systems in the country.

Of course.

Grow up. Condemning the actions of the Israeli government is in no way antisemitic.
