I agree. NH needs more federal transportation funding. It hasn’t happened. The current Sec. of Transportation is a Republican. Weird flex for State Rep. Farrington (R), whose governing practice is to cut funding to municipalities. Kauffman’s LPNH sent their support, bigotry included. #NHPolitics

The framing infers something nefarious or that every single city and town in NH is incompetent, including red ones. It ignores exploding transportation and special education costs, buildings, fields, technology, etc. All municipalities publish their school budgets. State Reps know this. #NHPolitics

This isn’t true… at all. You don’t have the money and resources to pave your roads, or to install water and sewer. You don’t have the time or equipment to plow every road on your route. You don’t have the money to fund a private police force, personal fire department, and emergency care. #NHPolitics

Municipalities need money for services, so raw sewage isn’t emptied into the water supply. Everyone who lives in NH pays property taxes. It’s loaded in rents. The state eliminated taxes on investments and lowered taxes for enterprises. Those benefiting from cuts are not you and me. #NHPolitics

This is not true. NH voters can vote without an ID on their person — submit an affidavit — because their identity can be lost, stolen, burned in a house fire, etc. Identity verification always, or an automatic investigation is initiated. #NHPolitics

The NH House may try to police bathrooms again, but the Governor will veto it again, and there will never be an overriding majority. What’s the plan? Make accusations, ID people at the door; then get sued? I believe people should have the freedom to be themselves. #NHPolitics

HB2026 included major transportation and infrastructure projects. It had bipartisan support. It was vetoed because it would raise toll prices for drivers from out-of-state. Neighboring states have long done the same to NH drivers who pay higher ME and MA tolls. I don’t get the veto. #NHPolitics

✋ Energy utilities operate in regional monopolies with captive demand. Absent consumer advocacy, utilities could build infrastructure at will and pass the costs, plus profit margins, along to consumers. That increases consumer costs, so it’s important to make sure builds are necessary. #NHPolitics

Fantastic news! HB1442 is on the Governor's desk and would let NH public and private entities, in limited circumstances, to classify based on biological sex without it being considered unlawful discrimination. It defines biological sex as male or female and recognizes that sex-based distinctions may be appropriate to protect privacy, safety, and fairness.

It would be a huge win for women and girls in our state!

I try to stick values over partisanship, but there’s an obvious counterpoint here. Republicans only cut Business Enterprise and Interest and Dividends taxes, which you probably don’t pay. They also cut municipal funding, which you definitely do pay as higher property taxes and rent. #NHPolitics

Members of the Committee for Racial Equity and Inclusion, School Board, City Council, and Zoning Board joined Mayor Dennis Shanahan to raise the Juneteenth flag at City Hall. The Mayor proclaimed today Juneteenth Day, marking the 1865 freeing of the last enslaved people in Texas.

This former NH Dem State Rep shared our women's bathroom in the NH State House, along with children's groups who toured the Capitol as well. Ray Buckley, the NH Dems chair, and the entire NH Dem party referred to Barry Laughton (aka Stacie) as part of the
"backbone of our state".
He was just sentenced to 33 years for sick exploitation of children and discussed using them for sex. Laughton was elected to the NH House three times as a Democrat.
