Gave Indyx a very limited try and it seems really nice - though I haven’t used it a lot since I haven’t added all my wardrobe pieces yet. That part always seems to be the biggest barrier!

YMMV, but I was always most anxious leading up to a talk… but once I got on stage and began it was all good! So knowing it’s just a temp feeling I need to pass through can be helpful. +1 to audience wants you to succeed And they have NO IDEA what u planned, so it’s ok if it doesn’t go as planned!

there is always more gardening to do

POV picture, I am sitting on a deck with a container garden. My grey jeans and hiking boots are in frame, as well as a small vintage coffee mug sitting on the chair arm. There are planters with plants in them, seedlings in trays, garden tools, buckets, empty pots, and a bag of mulch, scattered about the deck. A nice view of trees and blue skies is in the background

Liberals: I promise to cut down every tree but one for profits. Conservatives: I promise to cut down all trees for profits. The average voter: It’s not ideal but I’d rather have one tree than none so let’s see how this pans out.

Seriously, I would love a recommendation if you have one that isn’t shit, available in Canada and small apartment appropriate. Everything I see has bullshit plastic joints which is exactly where the current one failed.

RIP (Rest in Pickles) to the almost full, gallon jar of sliced dills we had to trash after it sat in an uncooled fridge for 2 weeks. Quite possibly the most devastating loss of the ice storm.

Brenna ✨ @brennaobrien.bsky.social · 12/04/2025

Yeah, they probably never should have been planted there in the first place, but we inherited the property like that and it was never an issue until it was. Between the required clearance and ice storm damage to the trees, sadly, none were really save-able. 😢

000

Brenna ✨ @brennaobrien.bsky.social · 12/04/2025

It would be unwise to plant more trees there since there needs to be clearance from the power line but we’ll put some other low growing plants there eventually I’m sure.

110

Brenna ✨ @brennaobrien.bsky.social · 12/04/2025

Nooo, not putting anything tall back under that power line! It’s a safety regulation for a reason and I’d hate to have to cut them down again once they mature.

I’m having my little grief moment but also thinking about maybe some nice native shrubs (short guys!) we can put in their place.

Brenna ✨ @brennaobrien.bsky.social · 11/04/2025

Ahh fuck we just had to have 10 cedar and poplar trees basically clear cut to be able to get our hydro line hooked back up post-storm. Losing trees in a storm is sad but signing the tree execution order and paying thousands for it gutted me on whole other level. 😭

Please send any hugs or fun you’ve got! The damage could have been much worse and we are safe, but it’s been 12 days of dealing with the fallout from an ice storm and I’m deeply tired and overwhelmed. 😩

Absolutely. I’ve leaned I much prefer doing an activity together where conversation is more sparse and optional, versus something like dinner that’s typically constant convo. And there’s probably also something to be said for the physical movement in gardening that’s happening concurrently too.
