Finally found the key to monoprinting: don't fight the plate to give you clean pulls. Sometimes a series with the ghost of the last print is the most endearing. "Rose Garden" "The Wall" and "Algeic" respectively. Acrylic #monoprint s on paper, 2026

You are an artist that I have followed for years, through multiple platforms. Your art has such a vision and voice to it that I can recognize it as yours at first passing glance. It has been a huge inspiration for me. Hearing that you of all people feel this way too really kills my imposter syndrome

Today's wip #oilpainting . My fiance calls this series my "textural phase". Not sure she gets them, but she sure is supportive.

Been working on this pair of ceramic figures based on ancient #cuchimilcos . They were usually made in male/female pairs. I made mine trans, swapping the identifying styles of the two. I can't wait to get the slip out and paint them. #ceramic #sculpture #handbuilt #coilbuilt

I feel that the art is for the artist and the audience. The process of creating though, is for the artist alone. Trying to tailor that process to the desires of the audience compromises how you relate to your own art. I'm just not interested in doing that.

I promise you, when you're watching a "process video", the person behind the camera spent far longer making the space look "acceptable." When I am genuinely in the creative flow, my studio looks like this: which I'm sure would garner 1000 rude comments on Instagram.

It seems as though the final product, the actual art, is far less important than how successfully you can hold attention by allowing strangers into the deeply intimate world of your creative process. (Or rather, a curated, cropped, and cleanly version of it.)

I find myself so disheartened and distracted by how *many* things an artist is expected to be, beyond an artist, in order to be successful and palletable.

Hannah Höch : Augen (Eyes), 1967 Collage on card 12.25 × 16.75 in | 31 × 41.5 cm Worthington Fine Art, Chicago
The present work is an outstanding example of Hannah Höch’s arresting collages and her manipulation of imagery. Constructed with expertly spliced photographic paper, the composition consists of three collaged, interlocking eyes at the centre, held together by bright yellow and orange electron-like spirals of photomontage surrounding them. In doing so, she creates a centrifugal composition that spins in disarray, disrupting cyclical forms and reinforcing a chaotic yet purposeful energy to the composition furthermore revealing her fascination and interest in the occult sciences and the biocosmic realm.

By transforming once recognisable images, piecing together bits of published material into one large amorphous form, the present work conveys an interest in abstraction that pervades Höch's mature works. This collage is a testament to the artist's ability to create powerful images that shake up the way one sees the world and art.

Hannah Höch first began experimenting with printed paper alongside fellow artist Raoul Hausmann in 1918. During a trip to the Baltic Sea in 1918, Höch and Hausmann discovered the popular custom of pasting a photograph of one’s own face onto pictures of Prussian soldiers. The practice would lead them to create their first collages, designed to highlight the absurdity and fragmentation within Weimar Germany. Höch’s wry and subversive works soon aligned her with the Berlin Dada group, a circle of predominantly male artists who critiqued German culture and politics following World War I. Höch exhibited in major Dada exhibitions, including the First International Dada Fair in Berlin in 1920.

Part II This one was built directly on watercolor paper using paint, mark making, and scraps of collage left over from previous gel-plate experiments. No full gel print underneath this time. Just letting the materials land where they wanted and seeing what happened.

I've always loved how ffak is just... pure expression? In a way? I don't know if you realize how much of a feat it is to have made THAT MUCH work on one comic. As someone who has tried drawing a few, 16 pages was a lot for me.

Finally got a better pic of this WIP. I'm in love with this one. Exploring the intersection of oil painting and sculpture has become my favorite medium. I think I got a little self indulgent though. Its a little muddy right now, lost some of the simple beauty. I'll tone it down on the next pass.

You might be able to cast new copies of the peg out of casring resin. If you get some two part mold material and casting resin. They may come out with air bubbles, but I'm sure they would be functional

There's something uniquely genius about this painting. I keep coming back to it. How the bodies are shown with the shape and flow of the brushstrokes, with implied movement rather than solid form. This really has something.
