I love 'em, but you are not wrong. As with so many art rockers, albums aren't the key. Maybe we need a new critical movement to make proper sense of this kind of music. Progtimism!

Texas has suspended over 1.2 million voter registrations. Many valid voters in Texas have found their voter registrations were somehow canceled when they checked. Check your registration here and fix it immediately - Texas doesn't always honor provisional ballots cast on election day.

I grew up in Texas calling all soft drinks coke, but when I used that with my Texas high school students a couple of years back only one of them had heard of doing that. It's soda to them now.

For Texas Architect, I unloaded on Texas cities for using deferred maintenance as a precedent for demolishing and abandoning civic structures, including I.M. Pei's Dallas City Hall. Fort Worth and San Antonio aren't spared either. magazine.texasarchitects.org/2026/07/28/d...

Been listening to albums/eras of bands I skipped bc I heard they were bad. Maybe there’s some gold in Tony Martin-era Black Sabbath? There is not. Don’t be like me.

Listen to Dave. A little more self-consciously retro than Bala Desejo as well as a bit tougher and less frothy. If I were still keeping up with this stuff I might think it's the best Brazilian disco album since Sim Sim Sim.
