Autumn breeze whispers through the trees, But flowers wear their aging youth And find ways to dance gingerly, In defiance. #photography | #dslr | #imageAndVerse (Notice how each verse fits its respective picture?!?!) (edits in Shotwell Viewer) (I dislike these parentheses & can't stop using them)
Oriented portrait, the picture tells the story of how wild pastures (in the foreground) become groves become forests (in the middle), as they are led by the vanishing point in the background, a glimpse of the last light of day, as it illuminates a far-off tall canopy which is revealing its first colorations of fall; a cycle of birth, growth, maturity, decay... and rebirthTwo cosmos are talking to each other, the purple is bigger and its petals slightly shriven as it faces us, while the orange one is smaller and perky, but we only see it from behind; the background is blurred out but resembles a mix of greenery and grey asphaltHm. A rather darkened setting in which a large patch of yellow flowers mixed with purple-tinged puffs (hawksbeard or sow-thisle, unsure) are bending to the violence of Notos, bringer of storms and rain; most importantly, there is a sense in which this flowery multitude is swaying in a Brownian fashion, too complex to understand; in the background, a shadowed hint of firsTwo woodland sunflowers are framed in the photo, both having grown to full maturity; the one in the foreground is still in full bloom, while the one in the back has lost much of its inflorescence; the photo is rather dark, taken in very low-light and showing artifacts characteristic of high ISO by the camera; in far background, tall trees in shadow frame the scene, while a smidge of dusk-light comes through from the upper left corner

Me: I will take a one-day break from bitpacking optimization Zeus, Aegis-Bearer, Gatherer of Clouds: I grant you favorable omen #photography | #dlsr | #walking (and yeah, I felt like some alt text)
Beyond the darkened silhouettes of park trees and shadowed grass, a luminous breakout over the horizon is only so wide before grey-blue clouds smother it from aboveA half-half picture, the lower half pitch-dark shapes of canopies, while above a circular clearing sky lets pass the golden rays of a dying sun, promises of tomorrow's rebirthA clearing sky behind a darkened silhouette of tree groves is veiled by porous, ethereal matter illuminated in orange from the setting sun; in the background, breaking clouds are darkened against the backdrop of pale blue and yellow blendingFrom the ground, the camera captures a grey covered sky, but in the foreground a red-tinted 30 degree arc of a rainbow, as if invisible but to the precise angle of the photographer standing straight and receiving the somber sky's salutation

It takes strength to face our sadness and to grieve and to let our grief and anger flow in tears when they need to. It takes strength to talk about our feelings and to reach out for help and comfort when we need it.

Haven’t been to the garden in a while, and what a surprise - a full grown zucchini! Tidied a bit, picked a bit of this and that, admired the flowers. My meditative practice for today. Each time, I am overwhelmed by the beauty of everything that grows there.

Something within you has closed down; And you cannot push yourself back to life. You have been forced to enter empty time. The desire that drove you has relinquished. There is nothing else to do now but rest And patiently learn to receive the self You have forsaken in the race of days. #Poetry 💙📚👀
For One Who Is Exhausted, a Blessing

When the rhythm of the heart becomes hectic, Time takes on the strain until it breaks; Then all the unattended stress falls in On the mind like an endless, increasing weight.

The light in the mind becomes dim. Things you could take in your stride before Now become laborsome events of will.

Weariness invades your spirit. Gravity begins falling inside you, Dragging down every bone.

The tide you never valued has gone out. And you are marooned on unsure ground. Something within you has closed down; And you cannot push yourself back to life.

You have been forced to enter empty time. The desire that drove you has relinquished. There is nothing else to do now but rest And patiently learn to receive the self You have forsaken in the race of days.

Thank You ~ Ross Gay ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank You
BY ROSS GAY

If you find yourself half naked and barefoot in the frosty grass, hearing, again, the earth's great, sonorous moan that says
you are the air of the now and gone, that says all you love will turn to dust, and will meet you there, do not raise your fist. Do not raise
your small voice against it. And do not take cover. Instead, curl your toes into the grass, watch the cloud ascending from your lips. Walk through the garden's dormant splendor.
Say only, thank you.
Thank you.

We get so wrapped up in numbers in our society. The most important thing is that we are able to be one-to-one, you and I with each other at the moment. If we can be present to the moment with the person that we happen to be with, that’s what’s important.

Back at the garden today, in good weather for a little no pressure creative practice. Shadow-tracing with a paintbrush was hard! Used flowers dipped in india ink as stencils on watercolour paper. Then worked my plot until sunburnt, unable to leave, it was so rewarding. Also rewarding: sour cherries!

Poem for Wednesday ~Tennessee Williams —We have not long to love Light does not stay./Intimate the silence, dim and warm./So moments pass as though they wished to stay. We have not long to love. A night. A day...
WE HAVE NOT LONG TO LOVE
We have not long to love.
Light does not stay.
The tender things are those we fold away.
Coarse fabrics are the ones for common wear.
In silence I have watched you comb your hair.
Intimate the silence, dim and warm.
I could, but did not, reach to touch your arm.
I could, but do not, break that which is still.
(Almost the faintest whisper would be shrill.)
So moments pass as though they wished to stay.
We have not long to love.
A night. A day....
