personally i think things are starting to shift @erikahall.bsky.social posted a few days ago about how istock now advertises "no ai photos!" on its homepage where before it advertised ai. and suno now uses only licensed music

Suno replaces its AI models with a new one trained on licensed music as copyright suits pile up | TechCrunch
As it grapples with a bevy of lawsuits, Suno said its new model, Suno v6, is not trained using music it used to train previous versions of the AI model.

If we held people personally and criminally liable for the "autonomous" actions of the AI systems they create and deploy, I bet the risky behavior would evaporate overnight.

I would like media to care more about the reality that tech tycoons want to kill people than what they’re imagining about AI wanting to kill people. We have multi-millionaires (with support from billionaires!) calling for ethnic cleansing, a thing that has happened in living memory. Not theoretical!

Today marks 250 years since a small group of newspaper editors, farmers, and soldiers signed a document declaring our nation's independence — a truth that feels self-evident now but was revolutionary then.
What a privilege us Americans have, to live in a nation that every one of its inhabitants can shape. What an honor us New Yorkers have, to look out over our city's waters from the shores where so many Americans bravely entered their country for the first time.
Today and all days, let us remember that patriotism is not pretending our nation is without flaws. Patriotism is every act of righteous dissent — because loving our country means fighting for the best version of it.
Happy Fourth of July, New York City.

You can create your own interactive worlds in Hidden Door, starting...now. Meet Atlas, our new studio for worldbuilders. Play with your friends, engage with your fans, and join our revenue share to earn money from your playable world. Happy playing!
Build a playable world. All you need is an idea. Atlas, from Hidden Door.
Are you a daydreamer? A world-builder? Full of ideas? Our new tool, Atlas, enables you to design an interactive world. You don’t need to know how to code. You don't need any publishing experience. You do need an idea! (We’re certain you have a lot of great ones.) Oh, also. Do you like making money?
We believe that writers and artists should get paid (We believe this because it’s indisputably true). Platforms should be designed so creative people share in the value they create. So, we’re launching a revenue share program for world creators. That means 30% of all subscription revenue goes straight back to the people building worlds.

Start building worlds right now at hiddendoor.co. Or go explore our world catalog, and discover what authors, filmmakers, designers, comedians, musicians, and other creative humans like you are building. Use the code STORYMODE by May 31st and receive 25% off for your first year.

If nothing else, #GDC has shown me that there's a huge need for support for how to make games that use LLM in the loop fast and scalable. And very few folks have real and transferrable experience doing this.

#3157 A helpful tutorial
A digital drawing of one of those drawing tutorials that says 'don't do this, do this.'
The drawing is of an almost naked middle-aged man doing a flying kick. The 'Don't do this' one has a bunch of areas circled and a cross under it. The 'Do this' one is exactly the same but without the circles and a tick instead of a cross.
The text reads 'Needlessly adding red circles will ruin your art' and a smaller bit of text at the bottom reads 'Bonus tip! Add a tick under all your art so people think you did it right.'
