“We are standing shoulder to shoulder today to build the Chicago that we know is possible by 2031. A Chicago that lives up to the wildest dreams of our ancestors. By 2031, I want Chicago to be a city where a job pays enough to raise a family in this city.

Happy Birthday to my dear friend Jackson Potter, who of course used his day to build support for fights ahead. It was great to join him, Hilario Dominguez, and Alderman Byron Sigcho-Lopez rally for the leaders who will deliver for public accommodations our communities deserve!

Austin! We felt all the love on our second stop of The Working People’s Neighborhood tour in my neighborhood. Walking along Madison is a reminder of the progress made and how much more we have to do. (1/2)

I’m running for a second term because we can’t afford to go backwards. In order to keep building the safest, most affordable big city in America, we have to double down on investing in people.

I got joy, Chicago! I got it because that's what you all gave me on Sunday. I still have chills thinking about the over 2,000 of you who came to ensure our movement gets four more year to continue the good work. That energy will fuel us all the way to Election Day!

Now more than ever, we must protect Black leaders who are on the front lines of protecting democracy. We may grow weary in well-doing, but we continue to stand arm in arm as we fight for the future of our communities.

I had a great time connecting with neighbors on the far South Side, sharing about what we’ve accomplished and what we have yet to win. Our coalition is being built with everyone in mind. From affordable units for senior living to fully sustainable schools in every neighborhood.

I’m committed to making sure the people that run this city can afford to live in it. We are not going to roll back hard-earned raises from tipped workers, who are overwhelmingly Black and Brown women.

Donald Trump is gravely mistaken if he thinks he’s going to ride on the coattails of this administration. Violence has been down in Chicago prior to ICE’s disruptive arrival and it will continue to go down. OUR work is working!

Justice Brandeis declared some years ago that America, before long, must make a choice. We can have democracy, or we can have a horde of multi-millionaires. We cannot have both.

Worth watching the @brandon4chicago.bsky.social bit. Calls out that: Chicago’s guns flow in from red states w/ lax gun laws. “For every gun CPD gets off the streets, 2-3 new ones come in” Trump gutted the ATF, cutting $460mil and thousands of jobs, making illegal guns harder to get off the streets

This has absolutely nothing to do with public safety. Violent Crime is dropping exponentially in Chicago and in Democratically led cities across America! This President has declared war on poor and working class people. Trump is trying to undermine the progress being realized by Black mayors.

“This is about making sure we don’t surrender our humanity. We have to turn toward one another. The great late saint John Lewis reminded us that sometimes it’s necessary to come together and punch back! Equity and justice is the righteous call for everyone!”
