Reagan Republicans still believe it. When they talk about wanting to shrink gov, what they mean is they want to eliminate regulatory governance. It's a lot of what keeps them in despite the MAGA takeover.... Sure, Trump does a lot they don't agree with, but he's axing regulation, so they'll take it.
