I don’t typically ask this, but is there a #photojournalist out there who’d be willing to look through and critique my portfolio submission for a job application that I just filled out? #photojournalism #portfolioreview

About to watch Wicked with my family, and the entire screening audience makes me feel like this… there’s too many kids.

Welcome to the club of dm scammers on BlueSky. Thankfully blocklists exist.

Almost every theater I’ve ever been to in the past like 7+ years has a ridiculous 20 minutes worth of trailers. There’s a reason why I show up like 15 minutes after the screening starts.

I think it will be a long time until a fully AI film is released that’s not completely garbage. In terms of AI script, AI video, and AI voices.

For such a simple subject matter. I admire the range of color between the mix of reds yellows and blues, warming light from the vending machines, and intriguing blue hour atmosphere. Using ambient light as a leading line in this way is really cool to see. Great work Alfie.

Yes it works like a (free) subscription. When someone gets added to the list, they are autoblocked on your account.

The shortlink on there sure, it does take you off site. But this is all you need to do.

It’s not. It’s a feature of bluesky. All it does is take you to a different page on bluesky created by a regular user like you and I. Who compiled a giant list of accounts that spam AI at absurd rates and allows you to block all of those people all at once. You don’t even leave Bluesky.

Hey #PhotoSky. Consider subscribing to this “Hugging Face” blocklist that blocks some of the leading AI devs who scrape your #photography for AI slop. Reshare this blocklist for those who disagree with having your work scanned.

Absolutely gorgeous. I love the golden hour sunset that is perfectly outlining the side of the cliff and lighting up the dynamic clouds above, as the snow blankets the entire scene. Love the coloration between the yellow light, grey blue sky, dark grey rock, and white snow. Beautiful work Sean.

I ended up writing a long thread about the dangers of geotagging and how it’s the worst thing to happen due to instagram implementing it into their site. I’m sorry that this had happened to a place near you.

I love this. I love how close the frame is that you can see the mud all over the beak. Great color editing as well. Perfectly accurate yet my interest is raised alongside the darker blacks and higher contrast. Great work Mary.

The texture and detail of this image. The color matching with the yellow and blue and white. The snow filling in the entire frame blending everything into one cohesive image. This is gorgeous Russ.

The range of colors, the lighting, the dynamic sky, the texture on everything, the flowing river that flows out of frame, the main subject of the glacier and the pool of muddy water below. This is great work.

One I'm passionate about is wildfire prevention. One of the best methods of mitigating the impacts of wildland fire is by doing something called "Timber Stand Improvement". This effectively boils down to selectively chainsawing old trees and putting them in large piles to burn during the winter.
A group of conservationists stand in a large open field in the morning while getting ready to chainsaw trees to help improve the overall health of the forest.A chainsaw is used to break down branches of an already cut down tree to make it easier to separate into a large pile to burn for later.A conservationist smiles while sitting in a workstation while taking a break after having just broken down a tree.A conservationist creates a large pile of wood that will be burned during the winter to easily and efficiently dispose of excess fuel in the forest.

This is a measure taken to mitigate the impacts of a large wildland fire.

I used Threads heavily for like a week and periodically check it. Idk. The site is strange, then again I don’t like what’s happened to Instagram and how it is no longer the photography site. Threads breeds content farming. Every photography account is like “hi I’m a photographer” with every post.
