Nathan W. Pyle has a comic that expresses this well.
Four part comic of two eagles seated in high-back chairs, having a conversation. One is reading a newspaper, and the other is drinking coffee.

Text reads:
Do you think the owl is a predator?

Of course not. He’s never bothered me.

Exactly.

<Panel of silence.>

In final panel, the original questioner concludes: “No idea what Mr. Mouse was going on about.”

Caption from Nathan W. Pyle’s FB page: “The eagle in the cartoon doesn't believe the mouse has a problem because the eagle hasn't experienced the problem. Refusing to see outside of your own experiences is the definition of exercising privilege, and in a negative way.”

They seem to be leaning into this. Have you seen “Gym Bro Skeletor” yet? creations.mattel.com/products/mas...
Masters of the Universe villain, Skeletor, ripping his sleeveless purple hoodie sweatshirt off to reveal bulging abdominal muscles.

Photo tagline reads: “By the Power of These Abs” (instead of the traditional line, “By the Power of Greyskull!”)Masters of the Universe

Kudos! Best way to learn is by doing. Fixing stuff oneself is always a great feeling, especially since things don’t always work out the first time around. If you want a handy plumbing reference for future tasks you debate undertaking, or to learn a bit more about plumbing, this $25 one’s helpful.
Cover art for “Creative Homeowner Ultimate Guide Plumbing Updated 6th Edition.”

Primary picture is two hands; left holding a pipe wrench, & right holding a crescent wrench; with one holding a metal pipe & the other turning a brass fixture.

Destroyed remains of an industrial centrifuge after a rotor failure.

“A campus laboratory was seriously damaged when the rotor of an ultracentrifuge failed while in use. Flying metal fragments damaged walls, the ceiling and other equipment. The shock wave blew out the laboratory's windows and shook down shelves.”

🐶: “Where is my family? You said they’d be back today. <sigh>”
A sad golden-doodle. She’s seated prone on a loveseat, with her front paws crossed, & her head on the armrest. She’s looking wistfully out the window, waiting for her people to return after a week away.

Same. Saw these on my walk tonight. Alas, no ants.
Four, droopy, tan mushroom caps in a patch of green grass.

Whoa! That brings me back. The WWF connection might’ve been related to MUSCLE’s wrestling ring playset. A buddy had one, & our figures used to duke it out like Rock’emSock’em robots. FYI, my MUSCLE figures came in, & were stored in, a plastic garbage can; not something I’d’ve chosen on my own.
Clear plastic garbage pail, with hinged lid, surrounded with a shrink-wrap label, & filled with small pink action figures.

Label has black & yellow text.

10-pack
Millions of Unusual Small Creatures Lurking Everywhere

Large bubble text logo in yellow: M.U.S.C.L.E.

There is a pink figure, in a red wrestling singlet jumping, in sort of a starfish pose, under the L in the logo.

Smaller text in black:
They’re Weird, Wild Wrestlers!
Hundreds of different figures!
Collect ‘em! Trade ‘em’
Build your own tag-team!

For ages over 4.
10 M.U.S.C.L.E. figures included.
Red circular logo obscured out of focus, but I think it’s Mattel.

Have some kittens, & feel better soon.
Pile of four sleepy kittens. Grey striped kitten at top, facing away, toward eleven o’clock. Tan and brown kitten on left, facing toward nine. Black kitten on bottom, blending into black blanket, facing six. Second tan and brown kitten, on right, around three o’clock, facing camera, blissfully sleeping, completely zonked.

I think kitty likes her new plush toy. Hopefully, my foot will no longer be subject to attacks related to Elizabethan collar frustration.
A short-haired grey tabby kitty, a couple days post-spay surgery. She has a shaved belly, and is wearing a plastic Elizabethan collar (E-collar) to prevent licking her surgical incision.

The kitty is on her back, engaged in a tussle with a yellow, plush duck pet toy that has long limbs. She has the duck’s head and torso between her rear paws, and one of the duck’s feet is positioned in front of her face. The kitty has her front paws to either side of the E-collar (at the 11 and 3 o’clock positions), and she is licking her lips in anticipation of chomping on the plush’s foot. Her tongue, somewhat hilariously, obscures her nose; and her eyes are oriented toward the camera.

The toy was acquired today, after the kitty pulled a similar maneuver on my leg and foot, in frustration that she could not bite & kick her normal toy at the same time whilst wearing the E-collar.

Last fall, I got these fun photos of one of my sisters’ three, three month old, grey tabby kittens. Snuggling on me while I was reading, & playing “Welcoming committee” with their Dalmatian sibling.
Photo of a person reclined on a couch, reading a kindle.

The person’s head is not visible, nor their lower legs, but the legs are toward the right half of the frame. Part of the person’s torso can be seen, wearing a maroon shirt. There is a small pillow on their belly, & a multicolored fleece blanket covers both belly & legs.

The person’s left hand is propping up a kindle on the far edge of the pillow at their waist, the text is out of focus.

There are three, three month old, grey tabby kittens sleeping on the person. All of their heads are toward the camera. One kitten is on the chest. One kitten is on the pillow at the waist, slowly beginning to slide off the pillow toward the legs. The last kitten is on the legs.Three, three month old, grey tabby kittens and a full-grown Dalmatian, seated in a line inside the foyer of a home, staring out at the photographer from behind a storm door, acting as a welcoming committee for visitors.

Indeed! Apologies for not saying my full name. I also forgot to ask for a proper photo op, so I got this gem instead.
In the left foreground of the photo is the top portion of Matthew Gabriele & David M. Perry’s 2024 book Oathbreakers: The War of Brothers That Shattered an Empire and Made Medieval Europe.

In the background, Professor Gabriele is seated behind a table & facing forward, talking to a person standing in front of the table waiting for an autograph. He is gesticulating with his right hand, which connects visually with the corner of the book in the foreground.

Is he reaching for the book, or pushing it away? Who can say?

The background of the image is a wall advertising the GMU “Fall for the Book” festival, established in 1999.

Here’s a local news, NBC4 Washington, graphic of the “Helicopter Highway” from earlier today.
Local NBC4 Washington news anchor (white male in a gray suit) standing in front of a graphic labelled “Helicopter Highway.”

Map shows portions of Virginia, DC, & Maryland, with focus on Potomac River & National Airport (DCA) on the west side of the river in Virginia.

The Helicopter Highway, which is highlighted yellow, follows the East side of the Potomac river through the whole graphic; and also branches east over the Anacostia river, partially obscured by the news anchor.

On Instagram, I saw Vance compared to a White Walker, and now I can’t unsee it.
Screenshot from Instagram user read receipts, captioned “ok but am i wrong.”

Image compares JD Vance’s official Vice Presidential photograph with a picture of the Night King White Walker from from the Game of Thrones TV series.

Author G.R.R. Martin describes White Walkers as: "Tall ... and gaunt and hard as old bones, with flesh pale as milk" with eyes "deeper and bluer than any human eyes, a blue that burned like ice."

If you need an avatar, you might borrow Elon College’s Fighting Christian, “Mr. E.” They chose a Phoenix as their new mascot when they upgraded to university status around the turn of the century.
A bearded man with no mustache assumes an old-time fighting stance, with arms raised, elbows at 90 degrees, and fists turned toward his face.

The fighter stands above the word Elon.

Looks like a small video camera mounted on a headband. Think GoPro for athletes, or body cam for law enforcement.
