Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I made 𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑎ℎ𝑤𝑒𝑟𝑒 last night - a kind of traditional Valthungian stew. Meatballs seared in butter, caramelized onion, carrot, spinach, red bell pepper, garlic, and butter chicken sauce. (You can use any sauce, really. Tikka masala, green curry - heck, even marinara - adjust your spices accordingly.) 030
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 19/09/2026My hoya seems to have liked her summer on the porch! I counted ten inflorescences without really trying, and a few are already spent. Unfortunately, this thing stinks. Not really a bad smell, but more like old-timey perfume, or a fancy soap that only your great-grandmother liked. And also feet. 140
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 28/06/2026I didn't even notice this mountain laurel growing in the north side of the house until it started blooming yesterday! 030
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 24/06/2026It's a little wet for a good stroll in the Public Gardens today, but this flower in the succulent garden seemed happy about it. It wasn't labeled, but I'd guess it's some kind of Cereus. 000
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 26/05/2026Here are a few new Valthungian words from today’s move-in to-do list. (Yes, this is the nonsense that is usually rattling around in my brain.) 160
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 09/05/2026I'm pretty sure this path through Miner's Marsh is Fae propaganda. Wish me luck... 120
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 10/03/2026Best sign at today’s rally against Twobit Timbit’s ridiculous provincial budget: This is the best example I think I’ve ever seen to illustrate the importance of vowel length in languages that have that distinction. Kesalul = “I love you.” Ke’sa’lul = “I cast you into the fire.” 120
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 17/01/2026What do you do when you have no orecchiette for the recipe you want to make, but you remember that you have a couple of silicon skull moulds?... I think I'm going to call them "teschini." #PastaPosting #ConCuisine 140
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 17/12/2025#Lexember 15*: binējo ‘fle’ *Looks like I misnumbered yesterday's as the 16th, so let's just call this 15 and move on... 140

Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 01/10/2025I've been working on creating a template that I can use to "showcase" #conlangs in an easily digestible way in which conlangers can find the basic things they look for while non-langers can appreciate some things about it without choking on grammar. Here it is for Valthungian so far: 181
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 09/08/2025Faugun Hauvahravist! Happy Lughnassadh! Not a bad day's work: Six gallons of pear cider, a gallon and a half of wheat beer, and a loaf of sourdough beer bread. It smells heavenly in here! I also made a pint of homemade non-dairy pistachio ice cream, but we ate it, so no picture! 030
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 12/07/2025A nice Valthungian idiom: Þeni gapīča wriškunþ an basiðram. Literally, ‘When gapiča grow on berry bushes’ - pretty much equivalent to "When pigs fly." #Conlang #ConCulture #ConCuisine 180
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 11/07/2025@terryo1971.bsky.social and I are kicking off our anniversary weekend in Annapolis Valley with a visit to Church. 030

Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 05/07/2025LOL I noticed a translation tip for "French Gaelic" on the side... I'm pretty sure what I meant to say was something about "rare dialects of French and Canadian Gaelic" (which are both real things here), but somehow it came out as "French Gaelic or Canadian." 🤣 010
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 20/05/2025I don't often food-shame, but this is so bad I have to. This first picture is the spicy tuna roll I ordered from Moxies. The second is what the delivered to me. I don't know what's in all of those plastic containers, but you could try a thousand combinations and it would never be a spicy tuna roll. 100
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 14/05/2025What's the point of creating your own #conlang if you can't use it to be snarky? 1101
Jamin @bpnjohnson.bsky.social · 30/04/2025Sometimes I find myself shit-posting in my own grammars. 030
