Won’t touch a candle for Ang Lee’s adaptation, however, Georgia Oakley makes this her own. Great performances all around, immaculate production value, and a strong score.

What’s even more hilarious about how likely this merger is going to collapse is that Megan Ellison was the one seen as “how not to run a studio” once certain Annapurna releases started not doing well. Now David Ellison is gonna be the one that takes the title in a couple years.

Just going to throw this out there… De Luca and Abdy’s overall record has some low points either critically and/or financially. But if you look at their careers in totality, their work is way more varied than David Ellison will ever do.

I understand people don’t like Digger. And earlier this year I understood people didn’t like The Bride! However, if you’re saying those are the two worst movies of the year, all I’ll say is: you need to watch more movies because there are way worse movies that have come out this year.

Happy birthday to Brie Larson who gets unnecessary hate from trolls on the internet for no reason and deserves all the love in the world!

Alright. I should say upfront that I get why people do not like #Digger. But for me, I think it’s great! Not everything works but Cruise is fantastic, stellar production design and cinematography, and an interesting look at billionaires, climate change, and our response to traumatic events.

I might be a simple guy sometimes, but this first episode of Line of Fire on NBC was a pretty solid start! Not groundbreaking TV but something that was entertaining and has a hook that got me into wanting to catch next week’s episode.

@robbonta.bsky.social Just a reminder that this merged company is going to have 49.5% ownership by foreign investors with a good chunk of it being the Middle East. Hope you’re fine with the idea of them controlling our movies, shows, and news.

It's strange how Democratic Socialists - who are being denounced by both parties - turned major deficits into balanced budgets in both New York and Seattle.

Had the pleasure of revisiting this summer’s underrated film I Love Boosters in the theater again with a Q&A from Boots Riley last night! If you haven’t seen this movie, please do yourself a favor and check it out! Thanks Screenland and UMKC for organizing. #FilmSky

So if LANTERNS sticks the landing this season, can we calm down the whole “DCU IS DEAD” conversation? I feel like ever since SUPERGIRL that’s all that’s been talked about.

Brian P @bpercival98.bsky.social · 17/08/2026

One thing Gunn did well with LANTERNS was hiring Damon Lindelof as he actually has experience running TV shows. When you look at Marvel’s TV structure, it feels like they filmed the shows as if they were just really long movies and then decided where each episode started and ended in post.

This might be a hot take but I figured I’d get it out there… I think Anne Hathaway gives a better performance in The End of Oak Street than The Odyssey. It’s pretty neck and neck for me but I’m giving the edge to the former.

For more than a decade, Stephen Colbert has been one of the top voices of late night—making us laugh and, even more importantly, reminding us who we are and what America stands for. Michelle and I enjoyed being Stephen’s guests—even when the games were rigged—and we’re grateful to call him a friend.
