There's definitely some bosses that take you out of the grounded feel the game has going most of the time, like even when it's one person slaying dozens and dozens it never gets too fantastical. But the Butcher boss pulled me out of immersion when he started machine fun firing cold cuts at me.

Mind you, I'm only one and a half runs deep, and there's still a lot left to do and unlock. To get upgrades, you gotta download temp files, risk viruses (in game), and download plug-ins and other funny stuff we used to do back then. They even have their version of Limewire and you can download ram.

Mind you, there's more to it than that as you can get upgrades via diamonds if you turn in enough early on that help with different special effects. You can also unlock weapons for a special loadout that also have their own special effects that act like mini-versions of the diamond upgrades.

There truly is no limit to the kinds of awesome things you can create, the gameplay systems are all fairly intuitive, the only real mini-game outside of the creative process is the first firing of your pottery which is basically a balance bar to heat it evenly. But it's all very relaxing.

Now a bit more onto the game. You run an art exhibit of which you will fill with pottery that you will craft yourself all the way from the shape of each piece, all the way down to handle placement and paint design. Of which you will make ticket sales, or art sales based on visitors.

Like the gameplay is solid, the itemization is solid, the story has been largely forgettable (and it's no wonder why anymore.) Like everything about this game should've been a slam dunk that I could've propped up as a solid Indie, but they couldn't help but cut corners on STORY in an RPG.

That puzzle chest you see in the photos is also the starting puzzle you have to finish before you can even get to the main menu, from that moment on I was hooked in. It's been such a cute fun little ride that I even ended up recommending it to some friends unsolicited that I knew were into puzzles.

That being said! The takedowns are actually pretty varied, the punching bag even allows you to set up takedowns in a choreographed manner, so the bones truly are here for a fantastic John Wick style game. I just think they need to keep listening to their feedback and really dial in their game.

The jank comes from the combat itself, they spent so much extra time working on these little side systems, including a gambling site in the underground, that they forgot to put more attention to the meat of the game. It's not bad by any means and they're listening to feedback, but it can be rough.

That being said the game does have some jank here and there, but it would appear as though the devs are reading feedback and working on fixes/implementing stuff that people want, despite it not being early access. Let's hope that support continues and it gets to a positive rating eventually.

After that he gave me the pills he had and it kept me going for awhile, but we eventually made it to a house where I ran out of pills and started getting in a bad way, so when that happens you can either turn zombie or take yourself out with the designated button/click combo, which I did.

Keep in mind if you decide to run and gun you're likely gonna spawn more zeds down on your head. The infection mechanic I was talking about is interesting cause if you get bit or hit enough below a certain HP pool you run the risk of becoming infected.

So it's up to 8 players, you can go with randos or with friends, you don't need a full squad of 8 but the game is harder with less people. It's a zombie extraction survival horror, each level is laid out with a set of objectives that you'll have to stealth or run and gun your way through.
