I keep wondering what the next 4 years will bring. Like most who found their way to #Bluesky, I’m concerned to say the least. But I’m choosing to look at it through a lens of opportunity and personal responsibility to be a source of light in the darkness vs being a victim to the inevitable chaos.

This fact here is the exact reason I despise the existence of “low information voters”. If more of the general population actually took the time to understand this fact, we would never see another Republican president.

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

Honestly though, the point is valid. While most of us hanging around Bluesky are on the intellectual end of the spectrum, the vast majority of the general public (hence the majority of the voting population) are focused on more day to day issues rather than complex topics.

I feel like we all should have left X as soon as this monstrosity was unveiled…Obviously Elon can’t be trusted.

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

That’s exactly what I did. 😂

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

Always a good option!

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

Thank you!

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

I would suggest the correlation between long COVID & the sudden rise in POTS diagnosis in younger women (<45). This group includes my wife who went from being and ultra-marathon runner to barely being able to walk up our stairs in only 2 months. She’s been clawing her way back for 2 years now.

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

My God, I completely forgot about that story. But what an outstanding example to provide!

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

They also seemed to miss the whole “elimination of federal agencies” which will impact social support services (payments) so many of them count on to get by.

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Hell, I’m the other end of the spectrum, following 638 with only 15 followers 😂. Then again, I just joined earlier today.

I’m from Pennsylvania, and I assure you, Fetterman is not the kind of guy you want to reply upon for any sort of political consistency.

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Sadly, the ruling had even less substance than it seem. Saying Trump’s desire for this to be struck down as an affront to the working class is giving Trump too much credit. He had it struck down because it was Biden’s policy, and he can’t stand someone else getting credit. It’s simple, he’s simple.

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Count me as one of them…

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Not sure, but if you find that pack, let me know!

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Sure thing, will you put me in yours?

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Jen, thanks so much for posting on Bluesky. The platform is a great match for your work, which I always find informative and thorough.

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Well done Robert. I watched this on YouTube recently, and really appreciated the perspective.

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Same here. My father was an American Literature teacher, so Frost was one of the constants in my life while growing up.

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

I love it, and to make it even better, my wife has a matching reading space on the other side 😁

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Sorry for the simplistic question, but how exactly do you find these lists and starter packs? I’m brand new to the platform after fleeing the hellscape of X, and I’m a bit lost.

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

I think it’s important to remember that most people who view conspiracy theories as fact often do so because they lack sufficient knowledge to understand the reality of any given topic. The simplistic nature of conspiracy allows them a certain level of understanding.

I have a feeling that this space in my house is going to get quiet the workout as I continually seek a source of peace and normalcy over the coming 4 years. #books #dog #peace

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

This is a solid reminder for me to keep pressing forward with disseminating the fact that what’s coming must not be normalized in our society.

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Something has happened to my soul since the election. It became clear to me that those of us with good hearts, strong minds, & a desire for civility need to step forward confidently in our daily lives to become a source of calm in a world of calamity, & a source of light in the darkness. #politics

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

I have a tendency to store away quotes that speak to me. And over the past week, this one kept creeping up in my subconscious. Regardless of how you feel about the recent election, life does in fact go on. And those of us who wish for better, must do better to act as a light to others. #politics

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

I recently hung this quote on my office wall as I’m convinced that its meaning has never been more profound. Living our lives genuinely and acting as a source of inspiration for others in need might just be the highest use of our time and energy. #leadership #love

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

It seems that I might have made the right choice finally moving from X to Bluesky. Even after a solid 15 minutes of scrolling, I’ve yet to encounter even one conspiracy theory, false-Alpha rant, or lunatic trying to sell me golden sneakers & autographed bibles. Just well-meaning, interesting posts 🤔

Shawn @bossbaer.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

After escaping the asylum once called Twitter, I have found a new online home here. My Bluesky account is literally 5 minutes old, & I’m already feeling a sense of belonging amongst people of good intentions, strong intellect, and common interest. It’s a wonderful reminder that civility isn’t dead.
