Todays page... First version on the left, and then i just decided to draw it again, new on the right. Sometimes something just doesn't feel right, and you have to re-do the whoooole thing from scratch.......

sometimes my days off are quiet, and sometimes my days off include a homeless guy making a fire out the front of my house

em. @bosenmori.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

which is to say: i've been haunted by the echoes of a dream from a few nights ago, which i've forgotten completely now. but a vague sense remains, so i'm trying to make Something

which is terrible because then i'm just holding half-awake ideas and maybe a vibe, but my brain's firing off wanting to make something. but i can't. i don't even have a scaffold.

sometimes i have weird dreams that leave such an impression that i try to recreate what i can in writing and ocs, but sometimes it's like. the most vague idea ever.

yeah! like, make the painting obvious right from the get-go at least! a few hints can solve what feels like an egregious attempt at padding the plot out

sometimes i think my expectations for jrpgs is maybe too high, but the bar was set by 18 year old me playing xillia offline for 4+ weeks it IS a high bar to jump

i assumed it was tied to Morrow! but like you said, it's hilariously bad to foreshadow such a mystery through one(1) map npc. like, come on, put a bit more effort into this. i know there's like 10 plot things happening right now but a few more random npcs would really help!

it's hilarious to compare cai to dietrich's route though. that guy really did just fall into the narrative by chance and kept out of some of the funniest side shit surreal fodlan man

setting aside the very obvious plot threads left dangling in the wind from the missing 4 lords, there are plot beats that just sorta. appear. like the whole painting thing. foreshadow that stuff better.

i'm almost at the tail end of cai's route now and yeah, it's the cute starter/shounen route that has these very.. so-so breaks in narrative coherence
