Fulltime Boro 1-2 Oxford Oxford 2-0 up and cruising until a last kick of the game consolation goal for Roberts. Disappointing lack of creativity and press from Boro, made it a relatively easy day for Oxford in the end. Slow subs and weird to have Robbo left and Phoenix right where both are worse

Half time report: not as one-sided as I'd feared. Some good spells of possession for Boro but lacking a cutting edge to create goalscoring chances. Oxford look more incisive, one through ball playing Vancooten and Phillips out of the game and forcing a good save from Marschall.

No surprises as Stevenage the same starting XI for the third game in a row, if you include the Colchester friendly. Seven subs instead of nine this week, Houghton and Malcolm return after personal leave against Wycombe. No Butler, Pattenden, Jack Taylor and Knight.

Pretty horrific first half. Looks like the season is going to bow out with two of their most disappointing performances back to back. It's still been an above expectation season, but they'll be hugely disappointed in how it's concluded. An enormous failure to grasp the opportunity they earned.

0-0 at the half. Stockport played the better football and had more of the ball, but Boro forced the most difficult saves. Jordan Roberts came closest with a spectacular looping effort on his left foot which the keeper did well to palm over the bar.

Even the rain held off long enough. Chucked it down 10 minutes after everyone had left, it truly was Stevenage’s day. Reaction, report and ratings as Boro secured a League One play-off spot. Time to celebrate it, especially how it happened, but the real work starts now for me. Promotion the prize.
