Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 6hThis one was annoying to get working, but the Shogo demo seems to be working now. 071
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 8hWas one of the few videos I took that day. Shame its 2014 quality! 010

Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I know Airborne is out there at least. Should be some cool stuff yet to uncover! 100
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 05/10/2026BMX Heat, an unreleased prototype by Atari, uses some hardware similar to Hard Drivin (or Street Drivin), and would have had a bicycle controller to play! Image from the collection at The Strong. 1568
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I always wanted one. Almost bought one a few different times. 020
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 05/10/2026No worries :) Any ideas are useful! I just havent looked at affordable setups in a while so I have no idea what Ive missed. 000
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Deals could still be had for them but regardless, need windows. Do need the screen in this case 😄 100
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I would love to be able to get 4 of the same thing so I can easily manage them (or expand it to more in the future). If BC250 were windows compatible, I would have 3d printed an enclosure that would have been portable. 010
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Are there any cheap, BC250-like, boards out there that are Windows compatible? I could pick up a bunch of Atari VCS, but those arent terribly cheap. I want to make a 4-player Heat setup I could test. Alternatively Ill just pick up some old thinkpads. 394
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Virtua Fighter 2 PC working now after finding the Heat option. FIFA99 is also working after toying with ipxwrapper, which makes it the first IPX game officially working. 1276
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Baldur's Gate works, minus some probably DDraw issues I didnt both fixing (which is honestly the biggest headache at this point, easy to solve, just one more step every time) 050
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026A real surprise to me, fixing bugs actually, you know, fixed things with some games, now Flesh Feast, a somewhat controversial game, is playable. Id share a screenshot but they only captured a fraction of the screen, so next time? 041
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I have GTA2 running over Heat in 2026 before GTA6 releases. 0173
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Give me 5 minutes to get some better screenshots. It works now, it fought me a while. 100
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Battlezone (1998) seems to be working as well. Im admittedly not testing every feature, but generally if they get in game at this point, they seem to work. 140
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Flying Heroes seems to work. Deathmatch with dragons! 131
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Shazbot! The demo version of Starsiege: Tribes is working now. 1141
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Still not entirely sure what this game is, but hey, it's using the account credentials now. 141
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Been testing more two-computer stuff, Plane Crazy works, as does Army Men 2. Minor tweaks to the launch parameters (which is the hold up for most games, makes it cleaner if you get it right) 041
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Alien Race was a Heat-exclusive title for, apparently, up to 30 players, showing around 1997. I don't think it ever had a full release that stuck around any period of time. I think this is the first time it has gotten in-game in nearly 28 years? More work to do though. 1213
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Just remember, the power and eject arent buttons you push down. You push them forward. 131
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Some Baldurs Gate, Quake, and Quake: DaBomb, the latter of which was a Heat.net exclusive mode initially. 183
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Some signs of life out of 10six. This one isnt a focus, given its an MMO that is still alive through Project Visitor. 040

He studied architecture in university and his ability to build contemporary worlds is what got him the Valve gig. We talked about doing a Kingpin focused interview but he tragically passed a few months later. He was a gent. 734454
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Quake II might be working? Testing with two clients is troublesome on one computer, though not impossible. 140
Andrew Borman @borman.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Successfully connected to Kingpin: Life of Crime on my Heat replacement. Nice looking game, even at low res! 2271
