iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I’ve had many friends discover AI and go mad with power. Then are disappointed when they run into the walls. To them it’s frustrating. To me that’s where the fun part starts.

Oh man. Now I’m getting the itch to buy, repair and mod old computers even though haven’t soldered anything before lol.

Oh for real? Sydney I didn’t think the c64 scene here would be big enough for meetups.

I’m also in Australia but haven’t come across a whole lot of working/easily fixable c64s. I’ve only come across one Facebook group (Australian Commodore 64/128 Collectors). I guess I’ll just keep an eye out, or pull the trigger on a c64u.

Where are you finding original hardware? Are you in the UK? I know it was popular there back in the day.

Do you recommend the c64u? Or do you think scrounging around for a vintage c64 is the way to go? I’ve been looking for a vintage but they seem to be super expensive where I am.

Only works on older tvs and os versions btw. Hopefully you haven’t updated recently.

My Bluray player and Apple TV were locked in an endless battle for control of my TV the other day. Had to unplug one to stop the madness.

‪Do people actually pull out their phones at red lights or is this a bit???‬

What option did you end up going with?

000

boptom @boptom.bsky.social · 10/10/2025

That sounds like a lot. Are you wearing multiple pairs a day? Also, buying online instead of in store is a big $$ saver.

Took me awhile to work out what you are talking about lol Would you still recommend people watch the first season knowing the rest is mid at best?

boptom @boptom.bsky.social · 23/09/2025

Nice! What’s the reason the the recent pop?

Is the Apple Pro Display XDR still the best monitor for Mac users in 2025? Are there any competitors in this class (6k 32 inch)?

🙋‍♂️ I translate that to “I now give up sleep so I don’t give up my dreams”.

Yeah but it’s pretty cool I can make a desktop app with my web skills.

The Netflix shorts were pretty good, but yeah I’m with you.

Does Arcane count as an adaptation of League of Legends? I’d put that above Last of Us.

I would but didn’t have a console after PS3.

(SPOILER) If you’re a Joel/Pedro fan he does make a big appearance later on…

boptom @boptom.bsky.social · 27/05/2025

He doesn’t strike me as a golfer.

Expectations were extremely high after season 1 and people expected more, thus the negativity. I too loved the season. Some episodes (you know the ones I mean) are peak tv.

Wes Anderson movies always have killer casts at very low budgets. To me, as movies, they are hit or miss but I love how he has a unique style of his own.

From my minimal playtime with it: it’s really good! Got to get your head around React Native though. It’s not exactly react. And I really missed Tailwind and css is not the same on web/RN.
