Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation & Orange Shirt Day. As we reflect on the history and ongoing legacy of colonialism and the residential school system, and in support of the journey toward reconciliation, we would like to highlight a few of the Indigenous literature titles (1/8)
A collage of book cover thumbnails against an abstract orange background. Small footer text lists the publisher, Arsenal Pulp Press, and their website, arsenal pulp [dot] com, and in the top-right of the background is their logo mark (a circle with an off-centre jagged cross cut through) in semi-transparent orange. The books featured are as follows: “The 500 Years of Indigenous Resistance Comic Book: Revised and Expanded” by Gord Hill; “Tsqelmucwílc” by Celia Haig-Brown, Randy Fred, Garry Gottfriedson, and the KIRS Survivors; “Finding Otipemisiwak” by Andrea Currie; “Buffalo Is the New Buffalo” by Chelsea Vowel; “a body more tolerable” by jaye simpson; and “Together We Drum, Our Hearts Beat as One” by Willie Poll, illustrated by Chief Lady Bird.

A note to writers on AI scams in publishing and fraudulent emails purporting to be from our staff, well-known authors, or literary festival staff being sent to writers. Please note that any emails that are not sent from an arsenalpulp.com domain address are not legitimate.
Black text on a white background, with the logo of book publisher Arsenal Pulp Press in the top-right. Header text reads, “Scam Alert,” and the body text reads as follows:

“A note to writers: As with many other publishers, bogus AI-generated emails purporting to be from our staff are being sent to writers, offering publishing contracts or services in exchange for payment.

“Any emails that are not sent from an arsenal pulp [dot] com domain address are not legitimate.

“Similarly, writers we have published in the past have been receiving fraudulent emails purporting to be from well-known authors or literary festival staff, offering promotional support in exchange for payment.

“For your safety, do not respond to such emails or click on any links within them.

“For more information on AI scams in publishing, consult blogs like Writer Beware and industry associations like the Writers’ Union of Canada and the Alliance of Independent Authors.

“If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at info [at] arsenal pulp [dot] com.”
