I'm sad to learn that Marjane Satrapi, author of her autobiographical masterpiece Persepolis and one of the directors of its film adaptation, has died. To the very end, she used her talents to fight for human rights and even starred in short films like The Soloists. Merci beaucoup, Marji.💮

One is never too old or too young to buy and collect miniature #Wicked🧹, #Disney🧜🏿‍♀️, #Bluey💙, and #IKEA🏠 doll sets. The diverse depictions of my favourite franchise characters remind me of timely lessons by @christymarx.bsky.social👩🏼‍🎤, @lizclimo.bsky.social🐻🐈‍⬛🦊🐇, @idinamenzel.bsky.social❄️, and more.

In my opinion, a person watching one #Bluey episode a day is as crazy as a Beagle reading one word daily from War and Peace.

Would've been interesting had this folk tale been included in @janeharrington.bsky.social's book Women of the Fairy Tale Resistance; Madame d'Aulnoy, one of the seven conteuses or inventors of fairy tales, wrote her own variant titled Princess Belle-Etoile.👸🏽

This year, one of my favorite "conteuses", @christymarx.bsky.social, shared my blog for Women's History Month 2025. My new list of recs will be launched on 03/01/2026 and feature works by the likes of @kendareblake.bsky.social and @janeharrington.bsky.social. It's tricky choosing the right emojis♀️

I bought myself a delighful birthday present: one of a local bookstore's last available copies of @lizclimo.bsky.social's Lobster is the Best Medicine🦞. I've been following the artist's pages and buying her eBooks for years, and it's nostalgic to read some of her earliest works of art.🐇🐻

I've yet to order @janeharrington.bsky.social's fairy tale book, but I'm happy to see Persinette among the selected stories. Written by Charlotte-Rose de Caumont de La Force, the French story inspired the Grimm Brothers' Rapunzel, @kateforsyth.bsky.social's Bitter Greens, and my 2016 blog post 💇🏼‍♀️

Two years ago, @laurenjabear.bsky.social wrote Medusa's Sisters🐍🐍🐍, one of my favorite books. Now, I finally have my very own snake wig, wearing it to teach my class the classic stories and take fun selfies. Also can't wait to read @janeharrington.bsky.social's fairy tale book📘. Yes to human makers.

For #TakeMeBackTuesday and #WomensHistoryMonth, here's another classic I recommended on my blog. Written in 1949 by an anti-Nazi German man named Erich Kästner, #TheParentTrap is the classic children's novel about those switching #twins. 👨🏻👩🏼👧🏼👧🏼 aeleazarsarbitrarythoughts.blogspot.com
