I got one of those marketplace insurance rebate checks and honestly all it did was demonstrate how messed up our healthcare is because it arrived on the same day as a medical bill. Oh yes this $500 is really making a huge difference in the cost of healthcare. 🙄

We're home. The surgery to remove the lumps was a little more complicated because one had grown quite a bit and the other was starting to grow into the muscle. So they needed to be removed. But I feel awful. My poor dog. And he's on a stair restriction so I'm having to carry him everywhere.

I've been watching videos of Dressmaker because I am fascinated by this game but I will never play it. However, the sewing confuses me. It looks like the pieces are all being sewn on 3 or 4 sides? Is the sewing actually accurate for the pattern or is this just a game mechanic?

Tonight we had a release event at Prologue Bookshop. It was a really fun time and I'm so glad I got to talk about Irish folklore and a couple other stories that I've been dying to tell folks. Then we went and got ice cream afterward. It's been a really lovely release day for my latest book.

There was a goldfinch in my mom's yard that couldn't fly, so I ran around until I caught it. They're hard to catch! We dropped him off at the wildlife rescue. I chose not to get updates so we can all believe that he's going to be just fine and have a long and happy life.

My garden is fenced off to keep the dog out. Today there was a rabbit in my garden and it panicked, couldn't find an exit, and started climbing the chicken wire and kept falling off. I opened the gate for it. Then I found it had eaten the leaves off my green bean plants. Still feel bad for it.
