I missed the red "blood moon" peak of tonight's Lunar Eclipse. This photo is color but, the moon is grayscale, so... I was disappointed that I couldn't spot anyone else near home observing the spectacle. There was a viewing party in the Oregon District, but if I'd stayed there I couldn't take this.
A photo of the Lunar Eclipse of 8/28/26. Earth's shadow is covering about 60% of the full moon. If the moon were a clock face, the shadow arcs upward from about 8 o'clock to approximately 2:30.

In February 1777, General George Washington ordered the first mass immunization campaign in American history by mandating that his troops be inoculated against smallpox. He protected the Continental Army from an epidemic that was deadlier than British forces. 249 years later, we have this idiot.

What's in store for the new year? The best way to find out is to stop in the store!
A bright yellow background scattered with a dozen or so cartoonish illustrations of pairs of sexy, plump, pink, kissable lips was cropped and touched up from the cover of "Sex to Sexty" issue 13. Upon this cover I've applied purple text at an toward sloping angle that reads "Happy New Year" on one line and a larger "2026" below that. Clip art of a hand is along the lower left side pointing at the text. Best the bottom center is clip art of a Victorian gent tipping his top-hat while riding a penny-farthing bicycle. Further embellishments include a wavy line of sparkles across "Happy New Year" and a bit of light-flare along the right edge.

Happy Veteran's Day! 11/11/25 — Open 6-9p. No open drinks, please. Fawcett's "Funny Animals" Vol 2 № 10, September 1943, includes a full back-page Capt. Marvel ad for War Bonds & Stamps. "Goofy Comics" 5, June 1944, has unique banners for War Bonds & Stamps across the bottom of nearly every page.
Four photos from Golden-Age comic books.

Top left Fawcett's Funny Animals 10, September. "68 pages in full color, Magazine Editorial Advisory Board Approved Reading, A talking zoo for you—and You!" Marvel Bunny holds a chalkboard with head sketches of: Willie, a ghost; Sherlock, a monkey; and Oscar, a duck. On the ground are two books, a ruler, an apple, a piece of chalk, and eraser. One of the books is titled "Uncle Don." A bluebird on the books looks at the chalkboard.

Top right is the last page of the same comic. In bed "Billy Batson says... wake up! It's time to get fightin' mad!" A thunderclap and lightning bolt later, "Captain Marvel says... Buy war bonds and stamps!" "Bonds and stamps will lick the tramps who live across the ocean in Berlin, and will let them know in Tokio we didn't start this war.. But now.. We'll win!"

Bottom left is "Goofy Comics" 5. A fat hippo on a teeter-totter says to a tiny monkey, up on the other end, "It must be broken! It won't work!" In the bottom corner a red white and blue pennant reads "But War Bonds and Stamps for Victory."

Bottom right is the first page of the same comic. Numerous panels of the antics of Wilbur Wolf in an anthropomorphic army of dogs. A banner at the bottom says "Be American – Buy War Stamps and Bonds!" An example of similar banners across nearly every page in this comic.

Imperfect 10? 11/10/25 — Open 6-9p. No open drinks, please. "10" was a popular 1979 film starring Dudley Moore, Julie Andrews, & Bo Derek. "Perfect 10" was a privately published glossy adult mag competing with Playboy. I rate this post 4/10 for being only slightly informative. We have the mags!
Cropped issue number art from the cover of "Sex to Sexty" 10. The four crosshatched lines of the number (or 'pound') symbol and the number ten are printed in black inside an asymmetric white circle when a black border, the background is a pink-orange with a few irregular white wavy lines.

2 Golden-Age funnies with cats in the cover? It must be #Caturday! 11/8/25 — Open 6³-10p tonight. No open drinks, please. If you appreciate vintage funny comics, don't get bent out of shape. More are on the way! If you do get bent out of shape, maybe the yoga books I've been posting can help. 😉👍
An image of two Golden Age funny comics arranged side by side.

On the left is "Ziggy Pig, Silly Seal Comics" number 2, Winter issue. A black and white tuxedo cat with a crop of orange head hair, wearing a green hat, a black and red striped shirt, blue jeans, and brief shoes sure in a cabana chair reading a newspaper on an old boat dock. A little white seal wearing s red sweater, orange and black striped toque, and a purple scarf is on a dockside ladder throwing a loop of rope around one of the cat's shoes. A pig in red pants, a green turtleneck with a yellow Z on the front and a blue stretch beanie with Ziggy on the folded edge is in a small yellow boat with a pink motor. The looped rope is tied to the boat. Speed lines and puffs of air indicate the boat is in motion as Ziggy asks the cat, "Hey Toughy...... Wanna go for a ride?"

On the right is a Dell Comic of Carl AnderSon's "Henry", marked "Jan.-Feb., This is a King Feature, 52 pages-All comics!" A curly-haired redhead girl with a blue hairbow, black sweater, white shirts, blue socks, and brown shoes, and hands in a white muff walks alongside a bald boy, Henry, in a red t-shirt, black shorts, white socks and black shoes. They're in a park-like setting. He's carrying a fluffy white cat with a pick bow around it's neck.

Her long hair trails behind her beneath an animal-skin cap with cat-like ears. A staff is visible behind her back, at an angle as if held by her unseen right hand - possibly a spear or another type of weapon.

A photo of a softcover book superimposed on a cropped and dimmed image of itself to create a square frame.

"Mysteries of the Dark Moon – The Healing Power of the Dark Goddess" by Demetra George.

"Brimming with insight, information, and mystery... For everyone with thirsty souls and inquiring minds." Michael Lutin, author of "Childhood Rising" and "Made in Heaven."

The cover is black with white text, except the subtitle which is printed in red script.

Across the upper third of the cover is an impressionistic illustration, in mostly shades of gray, of a nude woman reclining on her right side, upper torso propped sideways, upright on her right elbow, balanced by her left arm, outstretched in front of her. Her head is raised, mouth open. Her left leg is bent and raised, her left foot on the right knee of her prone and slightly bent outstretched right leg. Waves of energy connect her with her surroundings, lightly highlighted with yellow at her mouth, torso, and groin; light red or orange at her fingertips and blue at her feet. In the upper right background there appears to be a tunnel with yellow it's farthest end. This gives the impression that she is in a cave or other sheltered space.

Donald's nephews, Huey, Dewey, & Louie are all dressed in black capes and tall black hats with red bands, as they ride brooms, pretending to be witches - one is wearing a shaggy red wig. Samson demonstrates arm care tips fur me. #HappyCaturday! 10/4/25 — Open 6-9p. No open drinks, please. The padding, glas-cast splint, and Ace wrap came off my arm on Wednesday–surprisingly, not at all smelly, & replaced by a Donjoy brace. A little bulky, some drawbacks, but an overall improvement.

Another recovery day before I try to get back to bumping my elbows into store shelves. 9/23/25 — Closed Tuesday due to elbow injury. So humorous. The Humerus is aka the "funny bone." Really. Mine was sticking out the back of my elbow. It popped itself back in place, but injury needs time to heal
An elbow x-ray showing a small bone chip inside the joint. A red arrow points to the chip from a text block that reads "Bone chip or alien implant?"

Below that, along the forearm is more text, "I'm trying to be humerus."
