Sometimes not even being good friends can help. I've seen an entire tight nit friend group obliterate. [Over a stupid D&D plot] Some people just also take the idea of a story way too seriously and it begins to become an issue too! I've truly lived through some horror stories.

And due to scheduling the game might die All because it was easier to kick the player than kill the character... Which isn't the advice I gave. which was "kill the character keep the player." NOPE. No one can talk like adults and I'm over here being dragged into it when I'm not even in the game.

Also rule 2. If you're going to play an evil character, you can't be mad or prevent players from lead piping your PC. once you start roadblocking the party your character needs to leave the party. Just watched a evil PC be completely negative and got him booted.

Watching a friend have his game constantly explode over the course of a decade because he keeps adding people he's friends with but not friends with each other has been a very interesting thing to witness.

It has become a fundamental rule for me A TTRPG table should all be friends that hang out a lot of the time before ever starting a campaign. Too many issues stem from having a table of people who don't actively vibe each other a lot of the time.

In fact every time he would have died the suit yanks him from a place where he died to a place where he won't! He's a understandably grumpy old hound who has seen every facet of this one segment of life.

It's a bit of weird shenanigans with time travel and how it works with everything. But it means Thomas' actions don't affect Reese at all. Reese is technically from his own timeline that doesn't exist. and what he is doing is changing R.O.D's current until he wins.

So a very fun complicated story short: Yes Reese is future Thomas. He is Thomas' future but due to how long it's been for Reese It's Reeses past.

To Reese it is his present rather than his past; Thomas sees him as his bad future if he fails. Reese cannot bring back his R.O.D. He can only alter the timeline to the point where they win. Reese also still ages so his clock is both his own body as well as the siege he repeats constantly.

He's comes from a timeline where R.O.D fails in defending itself from a siege. Reese has seen everyone he has loved die in horrendous ways. Using a suit he has technically traveled back in time. Although he is entirely unaffected by the flow of time as he is fully separated.

Obligatory I used discord for the formatting because I'm too lazy to find a text editor I like for something like this. and also because I'm too lazy to have it in multiple spots atm.
