@bomb.sh/tty is the low-level layout engine and input parser that powers our forthcoming tui libraries. think we can get this even smaller, but our baseline is now v0.9.0 at 113 kB (0 deps) compared to v0.6.0 at 830 kB (0 deps) @opentui/core at 21 MB (9 deps) ink at 7.8 MB (36 deps)

glyph coverage for borders/curves is particularly poor, so subcell precision for those does require fancy kitty graphics support but we'll use the highest fidelity we can—the second row in the fill demo below renders in any terminal because eighth-blocks provide subcell precision using only glyphs

people were asking me what this is for 👀 basically it means we can assert against snapshots of the frames rendered to a term rather than a big blob of ANSI sequences. it also means we can build a player on top of it like this, which lets you go back/forward through frames and play/pause

back on my bullshit! @bomb.sh/runtime poc syntax is rough, but i'm thrilled the concept works jsx writes directly to a SharedArrayBuffer rust reads from it, taffy does layout, crossterm renders preact/signals-core handles reactivity
