It’s such a gorgeous game but back in the pre net days I had no idea that they turned the difficulty past 11 then broke the knob off I just thought I was particularly bad at it.

Which is what I would tell my self when I buy it and then get more paint the week after

…planning no but I can’t seem to get out of our local game store (Shout out to Terracrux in Tacoma) without spending less than $75 usd on paint so I don’t know if like $750 on paint would be unreasonable for a year

Not nearly as awesome as Zach’s tbh but here’s my 9 books:

Cover pictures of 8 books plus one place holder picture. The books are: Noble House by James Clavell, They fought for the sky: The dramatic story of the first war in the by Quentin James Reynolds, 30 SECONDS OVER TOKYO
Lawson by Captain Ted W Lawson, Salamandastron by Brian Jacques, The Critique of Pure Reason by Immanuel Kant, The Great Hunt: Book Two of 'The Wheel of Time' by Robert Jordan, All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, Accidental Journey: A Cambridge Internee's Memoir of World War II by Mark Lyton, and Freedom and Culture by John Dewey. All books have their cover art except Accidental Journey: A Cambridge Internee's Memoir of World War II which is using a placeholder.

Thank you for continuing to fight for the truth, against the continued attempts to launder the reputation and actions of a criminal organization in service to a criminal regime. Also thank you for the reading recommendations, as a lay person finding quality reading can be a challenge on my own.

She’s a beaut that’s for sure, do prefer the current Springfield ones with the mag vs the clip though. It’s funny was just talking to a buddy about the BAR was denazifying nearly 100 years ago now and you can still buy one to denazify today…time, flat circle etc.

So now I’m properly supporting, isolating, and spacing new pex and copper runs to be both code compliant and not insane (work can be insane *and* code compliant…) in the middle of the night, but I’m eternally grateful that my day job is making urgent reports that no one reads and not this.

The house is older construction (a bit before cordless makes an appearance) and has a mix of trades labor, handyman, and home owner (derogatory) work on it. Just peeling the layers of an onion that never read the IBC, NFPA, NEC (or existed prior to a lot of modern code)

Mild spleen venting but plumbing is about my least favorite thing. I’m now on day 4 of what should have been a 2 day special re-piping operation. During demo each piece of sheet rock removed lead more questions (I feel like forensic general contracting should be a field).

This was over 20 years ago now but I was calling a B2B customer service line (so not the general public) and I had what I though was a casual interaction with the rep, but she just broke down. I was the first person who hadn’t screamed at her all day. I still think about that a lot, I hope she’s ok.

Always been a big fan of the gun-axe (also gun-spear and gun mace). Got a lot of mileage out of them in 2.5 ed D&D when the rules were introduced in Combat and Tactics. As always your designs are ace, your weapons and armor are characters as much as the people you illustrate!

I’m a weirdo and actually watch/engage with the ads (I’m not doing premium for reasons you mentioned). I don’t use ad blockers and my ad experience is actually mostly relevant to me, ads don’t bug me though for a lot of my friends the negative reactions are visceral which is interesting.

In that regard it’s also worth noting that a compute focused data center (ie AI/ hyper scaler facilities) is a different beast from an edge distribution center focused on hosting or your bog standard enterprise data center. The good news is those are very innocuous, just mask em like derricks in LA.

Thinking about how Wayne Industries probably backstops most of Gotham’s public works and services makes me think of Bruce Wayne as Roman patrician (you know that govt is super dysfunctional), I would totally read/watch middle antiquity Batman. (Also excellent excuse for Wonder Woman crossover)

Aaaaa SimLife mentioned! I had that on 3.5 DOS floppy. The manual was delightful with little cartoons and a really tongue in cheek fridge horror plot about a suburban family getting essentially Jeff Goldblum’s machine from ‘The Fly’. It’s cool to see it had an impact on other people too!

Not a formal let’s play but I had a roommate who was an absolute gaming monster. He’d end up with me and all of his other roommates watching him play through RE’s, DMC’s, even mmo’s like FF11. He was really cool about it too and would wait till interested folks could watch before firing a game up

What was your first computer growing up: Apple IIe cast off from my dad’s work. A few years later my uncle who worked for Radio Shack got a killer deal on a Tandy 2500

Tandy 2500, a 386 IBM compatible pc from the early 90s. Mine didn’t have the CD ROM drive though
