Dunno what's going on over at Citibank but whenever I have to log into my account, it's pretty obvious that they have some very wrong ideas about security.

I found this video about a decade ago when I was casting around for something to back up my position that it was time to stop thinking of IT as a cost center. Since started 2 companies, worked with startups from 10-5K, capped by a stint at "Season 99 of Silicon Valley." Still holds water.

It's really easy to 💩 on people for using AI to do their job, but have you considered that it might be welcome relief in contrast to the training, support and guidance they DON'T get from their employers?

I asked Claude to help me build a small application that monitors the barometric pressure. It takes a zip or geo coords and a threshold. When the pressure drops below 29.7 inMg, I need to take migraine-evasive actions. Code here: github.com/boboTjones/P...

A screenshot of a pressure monitor app mostly built by Claude showing that the pressure is below the threshold where I am at risk for a migraine.

So many opinions. Here’s mine: the internet would not have survived without an index. The limitations of the way that index worked for 2ish decades were always a known deal. Now there’s more data and more ways to collect more data, we need better tools. Some of this controversy is extraneous.
