You're already not a "larper" if you play the games. Metroid isn't a narrative heavy series to where you have to start at the beginning, if you think you'll like this game you can pick it up. If you want some context you can play Dread Anyone calling you a larper for this isn't worth listening to.

I should be so fuckin excited over the TMNT in Crossworlds, finally our first official crossover with Sonic and TMNT aside from weird little gag cameos in Archie comics... But man the models and textures for Mutant Mayhem Turtles look bad. I wish they tried to imitate the style of the movie more.

God that Power Rangers crossover makes me so sad. If Next Mutation was actually good that would have been peak. It wasn't, so instead it just makes me sad that, out of all TMNT versions, only Next Mutation got to meet the Power Rangers. At least we got good comics with MMPR/TMNT.

Over on the bird site, there's a really goofy discourse happening with people that think gameplay isn't important. They say wiki articles and watching YouTube let's plays is all you need. I wouldn't call people who do this fake fans, but not playing a game is missing out on a core part of games.

I feel like this is the logical endpoint of people who only care about realism in graphics. Eventually they'll come up with some AI bullshit that adds realism physics into the games for those annoying people that whine about animators not animating every speck of grass moving when you move.

I still think about how we got a bunch of unique Punch-Out art in the Mario movie. None of this can be found anywhere in Punch-Out promotional material, so it has to be new art. Wounds my heart that we'll never get to see all these portraits cleaned up in high quality.
