I don't think the argument is that it's an automatic trick to win. More that by being more aggressive with the rhetoric you dont allow repubs to set the narrative, and you force them to at least in someway account for the terrible things. Consistently doing that can change minds

You know this really comes down to; People need to stop thinking politicians need to be morally virtuous and will always do the right thing. They are politicians, they will change on issues if they think it means they will win an election. You can use that to your advantage, to get what you want.

I completely understand that. And if that is what someone has i respect that. I've just seen in my personal experience that it's very easy for one side of that equation to be very manipulative. And just knowing how imperfect people are. That's probably the case a lot

I feel like open relationships are for people who aren't emotionally secure enough to get over being in the passion phase of a relationship. So they stay in a relationship of convience and then bump around from passion source to passion source. Idk seems like too much work
