If the recent 8bln/mo ARR increases for OpenAI+Anthropic continue that'll get them to a combined 1tln ARR by the end of 2035.

AI manics set to panic as Anthropic confirms *flat* ARR in 3Q. If Jul 26 ARR was 65bln, and total 3Q26 revenue was 67.2bln annualized, then basically no ARR growth. Even worse than the Tickerplus estimates, which were already on the low end of most trackers.

Valley VC GP told me over lunch how agents have taken over the lives of everyone in SF. I jokingly responded, "Bet they even learned how to swipe." They earnestly responded that all their single friends are doing just that & using grok's Ani for flirty messaging. Fuckin bleak.

Remember the $600bln question Sequoia raised 2yrs ago? It's now the $3tln question. And while the tab has grown, actual revenue has only increased a little over 100bln, highlighting just how far the forward need has outgrown the actual reality. bobeunlimited.substack.com/p/the-shit-r...

The Shit Returns Coming on All This AI Capex
AI revenues have finally overtaken depreciation, a very low bar. Getting even a decent return on all the capex planned requires the recent 100% revenue growth rate to accelerate over the next 5 years.

I hear all the time that the semis & hyperscalers see plenty of AI-related demand ahead, with no connection to who will pay to meet those lofty expectations. In short, it would require all non-tech companies to bet their entire free cashflow on AI by 2030. Good luck.

Too often advisors shifting into new positions choose an all-at-once approach. Inevitably that creates high sensitivity to the date of initial investment. Much better to leg into a new position over months or quarters to reduce the risk of regret and limit churn.

Annual revisions lifted the savings rate level, but the sharp downward trajectory remains. Despite all the noise about AI, the biggest driver of strong US growth over the last 2.5yrs has come from household's spending growing much faster than their incomes.
