I joined Norfolk International Airport’s tribute to those we lost 25 years ago on September 11, 2001, and to the police officers, firefighters and other first responders who answered the call to serve at the World Trade Center and Pentagon in the aftermath of the attacks. We will never forget.

Trump’s proposed IRS rule is the latest attack on diversity, threatening the tax-exempt status of private colleges over race-conscious programs beyond what was already outlawed by SCOTUS. Colleges have a responsibility to foster environments where we can all thrive.

It was a pleasure to meet with workers from Starbucks Workers United last week. Unionizing allows workers to negotiate for higher wages, better benefits, and a safer workplace.   I encourage all parties to work in good faith with one another and reach a fair contract.
