I’m a  supporter of Ukraine. I’ve donated money to send trucks, drones and first aid, but can’t make any significant change with the few Euros that I can afford to donate. I started offering a different kind of support in February when I joined an organization called Balakun. balakun.org

I'm with you about flowers. I mostly plant stuff to eat, but this year I've been adding more flowers just to confuse or deter the nasty invaders from the edible goodies.

I'm loving the Iranian Lego videos slamming our moron-in-chief, but I think they need to come out with a line of physical Lego trump figures and military props so we can all join in with mocking this petulant child. Anyone got a contact in the Iranian propaganda division to pass this idea to?

I saw it breathing. After lightly stroking it, it flew off! Yea! I'm hoping it recovered completely and I added a hole to the side of the greenhouse high up where I think future trapped birds can find the outlet.

It just kept flying back and forth. In the early morning I went to look for it and found it on a branch of a nasturtium plant, ib the semi comma as they do at night. I cut the branch off and carried it to a heating pad on the back deck. After a few minutes, it started moving slightly and #rescue

I live in Oroville where we have the great big dam and lots of flowing water almost always, but yea, most of the state is close to desert conditions. Politics here are deep red; that is hard to deal with, but I'm surrounded with forebays and ag channels even on the 110 degree days. Lots of orchards

I spent most of the day replanting seeds I've been starting in my little greenhouse. I'm making 'seed snails' to start seeds. Don't know if you're familiar with them, but search youtube for that term. Results have been amazingly good, and I will be using this method from now on! (Alt tags!)
Some of the veggie seeds I planted today. Lots of cucumbers, summer squash, corn and marigolds. Tomatoes are a few days away from being ready to transplant. Seed snails rolls in my green hose within my greenhouse that I've got heat and lights set up.
Zoom in to see details, but a seed snails is a piece of recycled plastic (I'musing bubblewrap) maybe 8" x 2' onto which you put down a thick (1/2" ?) thick layer of moist soil. Roll it up like a jelly roll, tape it shut and stand it upright. Seeds are inserted every inch or so and the whole thing sitting in a tray with water.
When plants are big, unroll and lift the plants and roots to separate them, ready for upsizing into individual pots.
