Edward J. Mack died this morning at 83 yrs old. He loved his family, he loved the Dodgers & the Celtics, he loved reading, he loved soccer and women’s basketball. I miss him so much. I know that he was so done with being in the hospital after almost 40 days. My dad is the older guy in back row ❤️

In the last 3 weeks, my family has celebrated 3 birthdays, Mother’s Day, a baby shower and the life of a friend of 40+ years, all while my 83yo dad has been in the ICU. He is moving to a regular floor room tomorrow. We are hoping that May closes quietly. ❤️

Slide is entitled People eligible for Medicaid Based on Disability or Age (65+) accounted for 1 in 4 enrollees but over half of all spending in 2021. Then there are two bar-type grape. One shows that kids are 34% of Medicaid enrollees, expansion adults are 23%, other adults are 20%, individuals with disabilities are 13%, 65+ yr olds are 10%. The other graph shows that 51% of expenditures are for either elderly or disabled enrollees, while the rest is split between kids and other adults. So 23% of enrollees (disabled or elderly) account for 51% of expenditures. As opposed to kids being 34% of enrollees and only 14% of expenditures.

I saw a reel talking about “hypernormalization” - it explained so many recent sentiments. Things are going to be terrible, disturbing & messy in the years to come. Letters, marches/rallies granted permits & polite meetings are NOT going to be enough. Prepare to truly fight for everyone’s rights ✊🏻
