Pretty label floppy disks 💜 I was kindly given a heads-up on how the MSX-Fan animal mascot showed up on the floppy disks included with the magazine. And thanks to 'Bin Bowie' who grabbed a bunch of them and did high-quality scans for IA, we can see just how MSX-Fan went to town on the labels too.

1200 dpi quality scans of four teal-green floppy disks with various anime character artwork labels in various single colours such as peach, purple, and red.

From an Japanese auction for one of the issues: a photo of the presentation cardboard disk-sleeves decorated with artwork and screenshots of the included software. No being stuck with sellotope to the covers of the mag like they were here.

To celebrate all the recent love for #Hoi and #MoonChild, I fired up @aseprite.org to create some new Hoi and MC pixel art, for the first time in ± 30 years. 😃💚 For the scenery, I used my tiles for the Amiga version, combined with the Windows version's mountains and night sky background.

That Dreamcast port was mine 😅 Unfortunately it still needs a lot of work at the engine level, before it would run at full speed. Maybe I’ll try again at some point, but if anyone with more experience is interested, the source code is on GitHub: github.com/koluckirafal...

I’ve sometimes wondered how seL4 would keep up in desktop environment, but never had enough skills to make anything resembling a prototype 🤔 Would be nice to see some new research in OS design aside from Fuchsia and Hongmeng kernel… making another Unix-like system is boring :p

IIRC embeds/previews are usually rendered client-side, probably depending on MIME type sent by HTTP File Upload endpoint as for custom emojis - Cheogram seems to be advertising support for them, but I couldn’t find any more info about it forwarded the question to fedi btw
