While browsing PDFs of EGM, I found a very funny sentence in the letters to the editor section of the January 2000 issue.
“Forty-year-old game players may be as rare as lottery millionaires.”

Was bopping around Freeform looking at stuff I’ve done in it and I don’t remember why I did this, but I never shared it with anyone besides whoever was around at the time, so here you go
Block lettering that reads “Now you can’t hardly walk around the North Pole without stepping in reindeer guts,” but guts is in very large letters tilted 45 degrees and colored in with alternating reds and greens. In the space next to that (and under the rest of the words) is a pile of guts with blood streaming from underneath and into a floor drain

Pleased to report that after the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro, I can finally color-match my iPhone to my busted, burgundy 2011 Honda Odyssey. It's the minivan of smartphones.

I just noticed a li'l guy on my watch band. Living with my child is full of random whimsy, which I will miss someday.
a small green stick-on creature, shaped kind of like an upright bullet or candy corn, with eyes on it, stuck to an Apple Watch band.

I decided to try to learn it so I can cover it when I play out. Here's the best take I could get (minus like five or six false starts) before I had to start working for the day. It’s not as good, I got some stuff wrong, but idk, it’s fun to cover a song.

Ey, look at the cute little reference to original iMac advertisements in the new Apple Health app. (I didn't get the screenshot in time, this one doesn't make it as obvious.)

Kid asked me to draw myself as a villain so uh here’s the best I could do. The child named him “FIXABREAKAH” and came up with the tagline, “cause he fixes stuff… and then BREAKS THEM MORE THAN BEFORE!!!”

Everytime I see this anywhere, I immediately wonder, “are they making the reference I think they are?” Which, yes, means anytime you see that phrase in anything I’ve written on the internet, I’m writing it in the desperate voice of Brad Pitt in Se7en.

Got out my sketchbooks to help my kid with a comic project she’s working on and found a sloppy one I drew, uh, I guess like 20 years ago about a kid getting a Sony PS3. Feels like it’s still relevant!
Frame 1, 2, 3: A kid is handed a ps3 at a game store, pays for it with cash, then runs out the store

4, 5, 6: at home, kid hugs the ps3 box, then opens it and starts tossing things behind him from inside. The items include a bowling ball, a dildo, and a booklet.

7, 8, 9: slobbering, he runs with the ps3 on his outstretched hands. Sits down, notices the ps3 says “open me,” reaches toward it. In the final frame, a boxing glove on a spring has popped out of the now-open ps3, punching the kid in the face!

It feels important to mention that this is from a walkthrough for Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble.
Expanded screenshot from this gamefaqs walkthrough, reads as follows:

3-2. FAQ USAGE
Though you can use this walkthrough for your own personal use, don't use ANY PART of this document in your own work without crediting where you got those parts from. For example, "DWA says in his Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble Guide, 'G" is for
"glitched"!'" would be an acceptable means of giving me proper credit without plagiarizing my work. Get it now?
3-3. THANKS TO...:
All the glory to Jesus Christ, God's only Son, for bestowing upon me the ability, inspiration, and opportunity to write this walkthrough!

My kid got out of bed while I was learning Warren Zevon’s Keep Me In Your Heart, and she decided to record it, then started singing along. Maybe a weird share, it’s not like it’s a great performance. It’s just that there’s just a lot of bad happening and it reminded me that nice things happen, too.

This particular bit is such a good insight that I wish I'd had at the author Vincent's age. I realized much later that there's no switch. It's more like fluid in a balancing tube that's flowing from one end to the other, and the balance can and will always shift. Lovely story.
My relationship with my physical self isn't something that’s been “solved.” It’s not a binary switch, one alternating between “fixed” and “broken.” It’s a winding road, with months of good days and the occasional strings of bad ones. But whenever I have one of those bad days, a new coping mechanism has formed — except this time, it’s not one built with the goal of deflecting harm. It’s a reminder to love, an affirmation built to reinforce not what I need to lose but instead, what I have gained.

To be clear, I definitely used other people’s art for my flyers. I really loved repurposing old western pulp novel covers.
A pulp western cover showing half a guy’s face in the foreground with a female-presenting person wearing a cowboy hat in the background looking surprised. The text has been replaced to say, in small yellow type at the top, “on August 9th, at Riley’s Tavern…” and below that, in larger text, “ROLLFAST RAMBLERS!” And below that, with quotation marks around it, “Western swing from Austin, Tx!”

I do too! I almost added it to the post. Aw, to hell with it, here it is.
Collage with a vaguely city theme, made up of random images of things that either are, or look like buildings, along with pictures of Hugh jackman: his giant head floating over a building, a smaller, but still giant, version of him standing over more buildings, and a very small cutout of him on that one’s back.

Y'all, last night I found this picture I took with an iPhone SE in 2017, and I have been mildly obsessed with it ever since. I finally figured out what this half-blurred picture of a 2001-ass CGI monster is, but who wants to guess before I reveal the answer later today?
A blurry picture with a cutout bit that's vaguely shaped like half a pill turned on its end at the top, inside of which is a less blurry part of the photo, showing an amorphous, greenish-brown and copper-colored blob emerging from a hole in a white, shadowy surface.
